El presidente de la IRB (International Rugby Board, la Federación
Internacional de Rugby), Bernard
Lapasset recordó con emoción al dirigente argentino Carlos Alberto Tozzi recientemente
fallecido y que fuera Presidente de la
Unión Argentina de Rugby y miembro del comité ejecutivo de la IRB, organismo
que el 26 de agosto de 1995, convirtió oficialmente al rugby union en un deporte profesional.
La derogación del amateurismo fue adoptada ese 26
de agosto de 1995, por los 21 miembros
del Consejo Internacional, reunidos en París bajo la
presidencia del francés Bernard Lapasset y entre los que se
encontraba Tozzi, ex árbitro internacional, que en la actualidad era presidente
de la Asociación Panamericana de Rugby, participando del desarrollo del rugby
en las Americas con los Juegos Panamericanos.
"Carlos fue
un embajador excelente para el Juego del rugby y tuvo destacada contribución para
Argentina, América del Sur y del mundo entero, dejando importante legado de crecimiento y
prosperidad. En nombre de la IRB y la familia mundial del Rugby, expreso mi más sincero pésame a la familia y a los
amigos de Carlos en este momento tan triste", puso de relieve Lapasset.

The president
of the IRB (International Rugby Board, the International Rugby Federation), Bernard
Lapasset recalled excitedly the Argentine leader Carlos Alberto Tozzi died
recently and he was President of the Argentina Rugby Union and member of the
executive committee of the IRB, body who the August 26, 1995 , officially
became the rugby union a professional sport.
The repeal of
amateurism was adopted this August 26, 1995 , by the 21 members of the
International Council , meeting in Paris under the chairmanship of Frenchman Bernard
Lapasset and including Tozzi, former international referee was that president of the Pan American Rugby Association, participating in the
development of rugby in the Americas with the Pan American Games.
"Carlos was an excellent ambassador for the game of rugby and had outstanding contribution to Argentina, South America and the rest of the world, leaving strong legacy of growth and prosperity . On behalf of the IRB and the global Rugby family, I express my sincere condolences to family and friends on this very sad time", highlighted Lapasset.

Le président de l' IRB (International
Rugby Board, la Fédération International de Rugby), Bernard Lapasset a rappelé
avec enthousiasme le dirigeant argentin Carlos Alberto Tozzi que est décédé
récemment et il a été président de l'Union Argentine de Rugby et membre du comité exécutif de l'IRB, organe que
le 26 Août 1995, annonce officiellement que le rugby union est une sport professionnel.
L'abrogation de l'amateurisme a été adopté le 26 Août 1995, par les 21 membres
du Conseil international, réuni à Paris sous la présidence de le Français,
Bernard Lapasset et avec notamment Tozzi, ancien arbitre international qui était président de l'Association Panamericain de Rugby,
et que ha participe au développement du rugby dans les Amériques avec les Jeux
panaméricains.
"Carlos était un excellent ambassadeur pour le jeu de rugby et a
contribué de façon exceptionnelle en Argentine, Amérique du Sud et dans le monde,
laissant fort héritage de la croissance
et de la prospérité de le rugby. Au nom de l’IRB et de la famille de rugby mondial, je tiens à
exprimer ma sincère condoléances à la famille et les amis sur cette très triste
temps", a souligné Lapasset ..

dirigente argentino Carlos Alberto Tozzi
recentemente scomparso e che è stato Presidente dell’Union Argentina de Rugby, e membro del comitato esecutivo dell’ IRB corpo
che il 26 Agosto 1995 , ha ufficialmente deciso che il rugby è uno sport professionale.
L'abrogazione
del dilettantismo è stata adottata il 26 agosto
1995, dai 21 membri del Consiglio Internazionale, riunito a Parigi
sotto la presidenza del francese Bernard Lapasset e compreso Tozzi, ex arbitro
internazionale che è stato presidente
dell’Associazine Panamericana Rugby partecipando allo sviluppo del rugby nelle
Americhe con i Giochi Panamericani.
Muchas gracias Carlos por el artículo donde se recuerda al amigo Carlos Alberto Tozzi, recientemente desaparecido. Carlos vino a Salta en 1961 con su club San Martín o Pacífico. Después en los partidos de los Pumas en Buenos Aires. Era un excelente ser humano y mejor amigo. Un gran abrazo.
