 ALL BLACKS- PUMAS, LA PRIMERA VEZ EN SETIEMBRE DE 1979

 

En 1979 se produjo una programación inédita, los Pumas viajaron por primera vez a las Antípodas, para realizar en Nueva Zelanda una gira entre agosto y setiembre de 8 partidos, y la visita de  Australia que entre octubre-noviembre jugó en Argentina 7 encuentros.

 Los Pumas disputaron con los All Blacks dos test no oficiales ya que se trató de dos encuentros en Dunedin y Wellington ante un “Nueva Zelanda XV” , ya que la NZRU (Unión de Nueva Zelanda) no concedió  el “status” de “test-match”  para que sea Nueva Zelanda, en ese período.

 Fue un 9 de setiembre en el “Carisbrook” de Dunedin (Isla Sur), con triunfo de los All Blacks por 18-9  y un 15 de setiembre en el “Athletic Park” de Wellington  (Isla Norte, capital de Nueva Zelanda), con victoria  de los All Blacks por 15-6.

 Nueva Zelanda en ambos desafíos desplegó un juego ofensivo con dinámica desatada por el flanker  Murray Mexted e interpretada por su capitán, el medio scrum David Loveridge (anotó el segundo try), y por la visión para maniobrar del apertura Eddie Dunn.

 Los Pumas contaron con una primera línea de carácter con el Topo Rodríguez, Javier Pérez Cobo y Hugo Nicola, mientras que en la tercera línea tacklearon a destajo Tomás Petersen, Ernesto Ure y Héctor Silva. El apertura bonaerense Hugo Porta aportó los 6 puntos (2 penales).

 Argentina formó con : Sansot; Campo, Madero, Loffreda y Cappelletti; Porta (capitán) y Soares Gache; Silva, Ure, y Petersen ; Iachetti y Travaglini; . Nicola, Pérez Cobo y Rodríguez.

Nueva Zelanda XV  lo hizo con : Wilson; Ford, Cunningham, Keane y Fraser; Dunn y Loveridge (capitán); Stewart, Burgoyne y Mexted; . Fleming y Stewart; Ashworth, Sloane y Thomson.

 Así Los Pumas recibieron ese bautismo, como ya había ocurrido un año antes en Twickenham, donde logró la hazaña de empatar 13-13 con Inglaterra, bautizada “An England XV” (un quince inglés), sin el status de test , no obstante tener la camiseta bordada  la Rosa de los Tudor.

Por lo que a 34 años de aquel desembarco, recuerdo el debut bajo lluvia torrencial un 22 de agosto de 1979 en el noreste de Nueva Zelanda, en Gisborne  y se ganó 26-3 al seleccionado provincial de Poverty Bay (Bahía de la pobreza) . Era pleno invierno.

 El segundo fue en la metrópolis, Auckland, la ciudad más importante y en el templo, el “Eden Park” donde los Pumas superaron a la selección provincial de Auckland por 18-13, una de las mas fuertes en esa época.

El tercero fue en Palmerston North ante Manawatu en el Showgrounds Oval, un 29 de agosto y se ganó por 21-10. El cuarto fue en Rotorua (la mayor concentración de población maorí) y hubo victoria  sobre Bay of Plenty (la Bahía de la Abundancia) por 32-12.

 El quinto enfrentamiento provincial fue el 4 de setiembre ante la selección provincial de Taranaki en el Rugby Park de New Plymouth con victoria de 19-9 sobre la escuadra del célebre capitán y flanker, Graham Mourie.

La sexta presentación fue el primer test ante los All Blacks en Dunedin (profundo sur de la isla sureña) un 8 de setiembre y con ajustado triunfo All Black por 18-9 ya que no hubo ensayos y todos los puntos fueron de patada con 1 penal y 2 drops de Hugo Porta.

Antes del segundo test, los Pumas se despidieron de la isla sur el 11 de setiembre con triunfo ante South Canterbury en el Fraser Park de Timarú ganando por 23-13.

 En el octavo y último partido provincial, del 18 de setiembre, llegó la primer derrota  ante Counties, el campeón de la Ranfurly Shield (el campeonato de las uniones provinciales) , que se impuso en el “Pukekohe Stadium”  de Pukekohe por 18-11.

  

 

 

 

 

ALL BLACKS - PUMAS , THE FIRST TIME IN SEPTEMBER 1979

In 1979 there was an unprecedented program for  , the Pumas:  first traveled to the Antipodes, to make a first tour in New Zealand in August and September for 8 matches , and the visit of Australia between October-November with 7 matches played in Argentina .

The Pumas played against the All Blacks two unofficial test since it was two test-matches in Dunedin and Wellington,  before a "New Zealand XV " , as the NZRU ( New Zealand Union ) not granted "status" of "test -match" to be New Zealand , in this period.

It was a September 9 at the " Carisbrook " of Dunedin ( South Island ), with victory for the All Blacks by 18-9 and 15 September at the " Athletic Park"  of Wellington  ( North Island , New Zealand's capital ) , won the all Blacks by 15-6 .

New Zealand in both challenges displayed a dynamic offensive game with flanker Murray Mexted, unleashed  and performed by the captain, the scrum half David Loveridge (scored the second try) , and the vision and maneuver of the fly-half Eddie Dunn .

Pumas benefited from a front row of character with Topo Rodriguez, Javier Perez Cobo and Hugo Nicola , while  the tackling of third line  with  Tomas Petersen , Ernesto Ure and Hector Silva . The fly-half from Buenos  Aires Hugo Porta contributed with 6 points (2 penalties) .

So Pumas received that baptism, as had happened a year before in Twickenham , where he managed the feat of 13-13 tie against  England , called " An England XV " ( English fifteen ) without test status , however have Embroidered  the Tudor Rose emblem .

As for 34 years of that landing , I remember the debut in torrential rain one August 22, 1979 in northeastern New Zealand, in Gisborne and won by 26-3 to  provincial selection of  Poverty Bay . It was midwinter .

The second was at the metropolis , Auckland , the largest city and the temple of the " Eden Park",  where the Pumas outscored the Auckland provincial team by 18-13 , one of the strongest at the time.

The third was against  Manawatu, in Palmerston North at the Showgrounds Oval, on August 29 and won 21-10 . The fourth was in Rotorua ( the greatest concentration of Maori people) and there win over Bay of Plenty  by 32-12 .

The provincial fifth meeting was on September 4 at the provincial selection of Taranaki at the Rugby Park in New Plymouth with a 19-9 victory over the top of the famous  flanker (and All Black Captain) , Graham Mourie .

The sixth presentation was the first test against  All Blacks in Dunedin ( deep south of the southern island ) on 8 September and is set for 18-9 All Black victory since there was no tries and all points were 1 penalty goal  and 2 drops of first-five-eight Hugo Porta.

Before the second test , the Pumas said goodbye to the South Island on September 11 with victory over South Canterbury at Timaru Fraser Park winning by 23-13 .

In the eighth and final provincial game on September 18 came the first defeat against  Counties , the champion of the Ranfurly Shield ( the championship of the provincial unions ), which won at the " Pukekohe Stadium" by 18-11 of Pukekohe .

All Blacks -PUMAS , LA PREMIERE FOIS EN SEPTEMBRE 1979

En 1979, il y avait un programme sans précédent pour les Pumas en premier voyage aux Antipodes , à faire une tournée en Nouvelle-Zélande en Août et Septembre de 8 matches, et la visite de l'Australie entre Octobre- novembre avec 7 matches joués en Argentine.

Les Pumas ont joué avec les All Blacks deux test  officieux puisque c'était deux jeux à Dunedin et Wellington avant un "New Zealand XV », comme la NZRU (la Fédération de la Nouvelle Zélande) n'a pas accordé le «statut» de «test - match" pour être en Nouvelle-Zélande complet dans cette période.

Il était le 9 Septembre au stade "Carisbrook" de Dunedin ( île du Sud ), avec la victoire des All Blacks par 18-9 et le 15 Septembre au «Athletic Park" de Wellington ( île du Nord, la capitale de la Nouvelle-Zélande ) , remporté par les All Blacks 15-6 .

Nouvelle-Zélande dans les deux défis affiché, un jeu offensif et dynamique avec le flanker Murray Mexted déclenchée et interprété par leur capitaine, le demi de mêlée David Loveridge ( a marqué le deuxième essai ) , et la vision et manœuvre pour le demi d'ouverture Eddie Dunn.

Les Pumas ont bénéficié d' une première ligne de caractère avec le Topo Rodriguez, Javier Perez Cobo et Hugo Nicola , tandis que le placcage dans la troisième ligne  avec Tomas Petersen, Ernesto Ure et Hector Silva. Alors Pumas reçu que le baptême , comme cela s'était produit un an avant à Twickenham , où il a réussi l'exploit de 13-13  avec l'Angleterre , appelée "Une Angleterre XV ", sans statut de test, ont cependant brodé la Rose des Tudor.

Avant le second test, les Pumas ont dit au revoir à l'île du Sud le 11 Septembre avec une victoire sur l’equipe provincial de Sud Canterbury à Timaru Fraser Park pour 23-13 .

Dans la huitième et dernière match provinciale 18 Septembre est venu la première défaite contre Counties , le champion du Ranfurly Shield ( le championnat des fédérations provinciaux ) , qui a remporté le " Stade Pukekohe" par 18-11 au Pukekohe.

Tras dos fechas disputadas del Rugby Championship 2013, quedó en claro de que la brecha entre los All Blacks campeones del mundo y campeones salientes del 4 Naciones, con los Springboks, los Pumas como con los Wallabies es notable.

Claro que los Springboks tras superar con suspenso a los Pumas 22-17, tienen el desafío de compartir con los All Blacks, el liderato del máximo certamen del Hemisferio Sur  con 9 unidades pero por delante en diferencia de puntos ya que Nueva Zelanda batió Australia por 27-16.

Por lo que el veredicto de la segunda fecha puso a Los Pumas terceros con su punto bonus  y los Wallabies van al cuarto escalón con cero unidades. De allí que Sudáfrica enfrente el desafío de mantener alto el nivel de rendimiento en la tercera ronda frente a Australia.

Pero Mendoza dejó varias señales de atención, más que aquellas emitidas desde Wellington. Si se tiene en cuenta las revelaciones del debut, tanto en Soweto donde los Boks arrasaron a los Pumas 73-13 y en Sydney los All Blacks redimensionaron a los Wallabies por 47-29.

Dos semanas es mucho y poco tiempo a la vez en el rugby, para cambiar de caballo en medio del río. Más cuando se trata de cruzar el Pacífico Sur en las Antípodas, donde los Pumas visitarán en Hamilton unos All Blacks que van calibrando y regulando marcha.

Mientras que los Springboks que fueron rescatados solamente por la puntería del apertura y goleador Morné Steyn deben probar suerte en Brisbane al noreste australiano, donde acecha el verdadero nivel de los Wallabies aturdidos y confinados al último peldaño.

De allí que la tercera ronda del 4 Naciones es un tramo por ciertos más ardiente que lo vivido hasta el momento: y con epicentro en la tierra de los Kiwis, donde espera la batalla de Hamilton para los Pumas el 7 de setiembre y la de Auckland para los Springboks el 14 de setiembre.

Está claro que los Pumas ante los Springboks en Mendoza, fueron perturbadores, abrasivos, combativos y provocaron la frustración para algunos de los Springboks y con las citaciones posteriores a Leonardo Senatore y Pablo Matera se abre la incógnita de la indisciplina.

También Mendoza se convirtió en un cementerio para las ambiciones de los Springboks entrenados por Heyneke Meyer, y la perspectiva de que sus dos próximas confrontaciones tendrán lugar en lugares donde nunca les fue bien, no mueve el optimismo sudafricano, precisamente.

El Suncorp Stadium de Brisbane está lleno de insidias para Springboks convertidos en gigantes que parecerán enanos si los Wallabies se recuperan no obstante éstas dos sucesivas derrotas ante los All Blacks en Sydney y Wellington.

Los Springboks en Auckland, no han ganado a los All Blacks desde 1937 y éstos no pierden en 19 años nada menos que 31 partidos. Y ésta será la tarea más difícil de la temporada para el plantel entrenado por Heyneke Meyer.

La brecha existente entre Nueva Zelanda y el resto es notable si se tiene en cuenta que en 2012 arrasaron Argentina por 54-15 en el “Único” de La Plata, demostrando que tienen fuerza mental para que coincida con la capacidad técnica y táctica que ya es notable.

After disputed two rounds of Rugby Championship 2013, it became clear that the gap between the All Blacks world champions and outgoing 4 Nations champions, is remarkable with the Springboks, Pumas and the Wallabies.

Sure the Springboks after beating with suspense Pumas 22-17 are challenged to share with the All Blacks, the leadership of the top  Southern Hemisphere tournement  contest with 9 units but ahead on points difference as New Zealand beat Australia by 27-16.

So the verdict on the second round put Los Pumas third with bonus point and the Wallabies go to the fourth step with zero units. Hence, South Africa face the challenge of maintaining a high level of performance in the third round versus Australia.

But Mendoza left several warning signals, rather than those issued from Wellington. If one considers the revelations of the debut, in Soweto where the Boks swept the Pumas 73-13 and All Blacks re-sized the Wallabies at Sydney by 47-29.
Two weeks is a long and a short time while in rugby, to change horses in midstream. But when it comes to crossing the South Pacific in the Antipodes, where the Pumas visit All Blacks in Hamilton about calibrating and adjusting going up.

While the Springboks who were rescued only by the aim of fly-half and scorer Morné Steyn should try your luck in the Australian northeast, in Brisbane, where lurks the true level of the Wallabies stunned and confined to the last step.

Hence the third round of the 4 Nation is a stretch for some hotter than what was experienced so far: and with its epicenter in the land of the Kiwis, where he hopes at Hamilton battle for Pumas on September 7 and Auckland for the Springboks on 14 September.

Après deux dates contestées de le Rugby Championship 2013, il est devenu clair que l'écart entre les All Blacks champions du monde et champions des 4 nations sortants, avec les Springboks, les Pumas et les Wallabies ce remarquable.

Bien sûr, les Springboks après avoir battu à suspense les Pumas 22-17 sont appelés à partager avec les All Blacks, la plus haute place du le tournoi plus important de l'hémisphère sud avec 9 unités avec la Nouvelle Zélande mais avance sur les points de différence parce que la Nouvelle-Zélande a battu l'Australie par 27-16.

Ainsi, le verdict sur la deuxième date mis Los Pumas troisième avec le point de bonus et les Wallabies aller à la quatrième étape avec zéro unité. Ainsi, l'Afrique du Sud face au défi de maintenir un haut niveau de performance dans le voyage en Australie.

Los Pumas y los Springboks a las 16:10 en el “Malvinas Argentinas” de Mendoza y los All Blacks y los Wallabies a las 04:35 en el “Westpac Stadium” de Wellington, disputarán la revancha en la segunda jornada del Rugby Championship 2013.

No hay cambios en los Springboks que repiten el mismo equipo de Soweto donde marcaron nueve tries a los Pumas, quienes tendrán cinco cambios respecto al equipo que cayó en Sudáfrica, comenzando con el pilar Marcos Ayerza por Matías Diaz, y Juan Figallo va como pilar derecho.

En la segunda línea van Mariano Galarza y Julio Farías Cabello en lugar de los lesionados Patricio Albacete y Manuel Carizza. Entre los backs, hay dos cambios: Lucas Gonzalez Amorosino va como fullback en lugar de Juan Martín Hernández y Horacio Agulla sustituirá a Juan Imhoff.

Será el decimoséptimo enfrentamiento en la historia entre ambos Seleccionados, con un empate el año pasado de 16-16 en Mendoza y quince derrotas de los Pumas, la última el 73-13 para los Springboks hace una semana en Soweto.

"Los Pumas van a ser unas bestias totalmente diferentes", expresó el centro y capitán sudafricano Jean de Villiers, y sentenció: “empieza todo de nuevo el sábado, pero tenemos confianza para llegar muy lejos".

El bonaerense Felipe Contepomi, centro y capitán de los Pumas, subrayó: “En Soweto hubo fallas técnicas y tácticas. En un momento nos quebramos y bajamos los brazos, haciendo que la derrota sea todavía más grande, por lo que espero de que nos sirva como lección”.

“No se había sufrido antes una derrota así, por lo que la misma nos puede dar el envión para darnos cuenta de que no hay que bajar la intensidad. Estamos todos con muchas ganas de salir el sábado a revertir lo sucedido en Sudáfrica", matizó Contepomi.

Según el entrenador sudafricano Heyneke Meyer "La revancha va a ser una guerra y  vamos a necesitar de buena defensa, que para nosotros está siendo un buen ataque y necesitamos de piernas frescas porque faltan cinco partidos y hay que mejorar cada semana".

A la vez que el entrenador bonaerense Santiago Phelan recordó: “No mantuvimos el control de la pelota y cometimos infracciones que permitieron que ellos nos dominaran con el maul. La única forma en la que se sale de esto es trabajando, ya que nos marcaron puntos por distintas vías“.

En el otro partido All Blacks-Wallabies,  el  entrenador australiano Ewen McKenzie busca nueva imagen en los Wallabies que vienen de perder ante los All Blacks por 47-29 en Sydney donde también perdieron en la Bledisloe Cup entre ambos  equipos.

McKenzie no hace dos cambios ya que el flancker Scott  Fardy reemplaza al lesionado Hugh McMeniman, que se someterá a una reconstrucción completa del hombro en Brisbane la semana que viene y el segunda línea Kane Douglas va como suplente.

“Este  grupo aprendió mucho de la derrota de la semana pasada y será mucho mejor para la experiencia de la noche del sábado y tomamos la decisión de no cambiar a ninguno buscando equilibrio entre experiencia y juventud",  aclaró McKenzie.

Mientras que el entrenador neocelandés Steve Hansen con sus principales opciones lesionadas como los aperturas Dan Carter -, Aaron Cruden y Beauden Barret, puso sus fichas en Tom Taylor (hijo de Warwick Taylor campeón mundial en 1987) para  timonear a los tres cuartos All Blacks.

Frente a ese debut  de Taylor, Hansen confirmó al pilar Tony Woodcock  quién celebrará el cap N° 100, siendo el cuarto en superar el centenar junto al flanker Richie McCaw (117),  el hoocker Keven Mealamu (105) y el full back Mils Muliaina (100).

PUMAS-SPRINGBOK AND ALL BLACKS-WALLABIES FOR REVENGE
