Mañana Peñarol XV y Selknam se disputarán el cetro de la Súperliga Americana de Rugby 2022 en el mítico estadio Charrúa de Montevideo a partir de las 19 horas. Será la primera vez que la franquicia chilena llega a la final y ahora liderada por el segunda línea cordobés Franco Molina, figura del certámen.

Será un clásico sudamericano cuyos equipos son entrenados por dos santafecinos: el cuadro charrúa por el rosarino Pablo Bouza y el cuadro trasandino, por el santafecino de la capital, Nicolás Bruzzone. Y ya crece la adrenalina por gran expectativa centrada en la confrontación en los scrums, mauls y rucks.

Los Charrúas llegan a la instancia final de la SLAR luego de una muy buena campaña: terminaron en lo más alto de la fase regular, y de los once partidos cayeron en 2 ocasiones, el primer traspié fue con Olimpia Lions (13-15) y el segundo fue ante Selknam, que se impuso 8 a 15.

A su vez Selknam, tiene idéntica cantidad de partidos ganados y perdidos, solo que ambas derrotas fueron en la primera ronda, por lo que ya en  semifinales los chilenos arrastran una seguidilla de 8 partidos sin caer, además cuentan con el full back  Francisco Urroz, como goleador del certamen con 95 puntos.

Ambas franquicias  Peñarol  XV y Selknam,  se enfrentaron 6 veces desde la creación de la SLAR en 2020 con tres vicrtorias para cada uno, y Peñarol ganó la semifinal del 2020.

Tomorrow Peñarol XV and Selknam will dispute the title of the American Rugby Super League 2022 at the mythical Charrúa stadium in Montevideo starting at 7:00 p.m. It will be the first time that the Chilean franchise reaches the final and now led by the second row from Cordoba, Franco Molina, figure of the contest.
