Comenzar con goleada la Gran Final de la Serie Mundial de Seven en ese teatro de los sueños del Civitas Metropolitano en Madrid, hinchando el pecho y ahora los Pumas 7s arengados por la Leyenda Gastón Revol, tras ganar a Gran Bretaña por 31-5, velan las armas para el choque ante Francia que arrasó Australia por 38-5.
Con 5 tries del cordobés Germán Schulz, del mendocino Rodrigo Isgró, y de los porteños Joaquín Pellandini (2), y Agustín Fraga; más conversiones de los porteños Santiago Mare, Tobías Wade y Santiago Vera Feld, los Pumas 7s ponen proa a coronar su performance en zona A, frente a Francia y Australia.
Para los británicos descontó Api Bavadra al finalizar la primera etapa, para luego bajar sus prentesiones; mientras que los Pumas 7s respiraron profundo para enfrentar mañana sábado, el desafío que los promocione a los cuartos de final por el oro en el primado del domingo por la tarde, hora argentina.
Fue una performance impecable para el equipo entrenado por el porteño Santiago Gómez Cora yel tucumano Leonardo Gravano, que apuntan al primado tras superar los obstáculos que son Francia bajo la batuta de Antoine Dupont, a las 12:51 hora argentina y luego ante Australia a las 16:17.
En Madrid los protagonistas son ocho los equipos que se enfrentan en mini torneo desde cuartos de final por el oro, los de mayor cantidad de puntos logrados una vez terminadas las primeras siete etapas. Cuatro irán por un lado y otros cuatro por el otro.
Argentina encabeza el grupo A ganando a Gran
Bretaña y esperando Francia y luego a Australia. Mientras que el grupo B la
cuestión es más cerrada, con Irlanda, ganando con los justo a Sudáfrica por
26-21 y Fidji haciendo lo propio con Nueva Zelanda por 28-26.
Los líderes de cada uno de los grupos se clasificarán directamente a las semifinales, donde se enfrentarán al segundo de la otra zona. Una vez terminadas las semifinales, se jugará la gran final y el partido por el tercer puesto.
Por su parte, los últimos cuatro (del 9° al 12° del ranking) se jugarán la clasificación para la Serie Mundial 2024-2025 junto con los primeros cuatro equipos del Challenger .
Las Yaguaretés en su debut en el Seven de Madrid, cayeron en sus dos primeras presentaciones ante Sudáfrica, por 24-7, y Brasil, por 31-12. Mañana sábado, a partir de las 08:28, buscarán cerrar el grupo B con victoria frente a Bélgica.
