Tras una temporada 2022 con 5 victorias y 7 derrotas, Los Pumas apuntan a un desafiante 2023, donde enfrentarán 9 test-matches a partir de julio con el 11º Rugby Championship reducido por víspera mundialista, y su décima participación en la Copa del Mundo William Webb Ellis en Francia.
El Rugby Championship tendrá a los Pumas enfrentando en Argentina a los All Blacks y a los Springboks (amistoso), y visitando a los Wallabies en Australia y Sprinbgboks en Sudáfrica; para luego disputar un segundo amistoso ante España y posteriormente los 4 partidos de fase clasificatoria en Francia 2023.
El plantel entrenado por el australiano Michael Cheika, donde destacan el apertura cordobés Santiago Carreras, el medio scrum mendocino Gonzalo Bertranou, el full back cordobés Juan Cruz Mallía, y el wing rosarino Emiliano Boffelli, tendrá su debut el 8 de julio ante los All Blacks en Ciudad de Mendoza.
Los Pumas en el 11º Rugby Championship reducido recibirán a los All Blacks el 8 de julio en el Estadio Malvinas Argentinas de Mendoza, luego el 15 de julio visitarán a los Wallabies en el Commbank Stadium de Sidney, y el 29 de julio a los Springboks en Sudáfrica.
Los dos amistosos: el 5 de agosto ante Springboks en el estadio Vélez Sársfield en Buenos Aires, y el 29 de agosto frente a España en el Estadio Cívitas Metropolitano en la ciudad de Madrid, para finalmente viajar a la concentración francesa de La Baule-Escoublac, ciudad litoraleña cercana a Nantes, en el noroeste del hexágono.

De clasificar a cuartos, Argentina podría jugar otros 3 partidos más.
En la previa de la décima Copa del Mundo en Francia 2023, los Pumas enfrentarán en segundo amistoso, a los Leones de España como parte de los festejos del Centenario (se creó en 1923), de la Real Federación Española de Rugby, el sábado 26 de agosto, en el Estadio Cívitas Metropolitano en la ciudad de Madrid.
