En el Estadio ‘’Padre Ernesto Martearena’’ de la Ciudad de Salta, Argentina cayó de forma contundente ante Escocia por 29-6 (8-6), por lo que apuntará al tercer encuentro del próximo sábado en el Estadio ‘’Madres de Ciudades’’ en Ciudad de Santiago del Ester, para ganar la Serie del invierno en el Hemisferio Sur.
Escocia se recuperó de la derrota encajada en el estadio 23 de Agosto de la Ciudad de San Salvador de Jujuy, y dió vuelta el marcador en Salta, ganando con 4 tries de Hamish Watson, Mark Bennett, Matt Fagerson y Sam Johnson, más1 Penal y 2 conversiones de Blair Kinghorn, y 1 conversión de Ross Thompson
Escocia tras trastabillar con el 26-18 encajado en Jujuy, tuvo un comienzo rápido en una tarde calurosa y el apertura Blair Kinghorn conectó un penal a 4’ de juego. Luego el full back rosarino Emiliano Boffelli, empató el marcador antes de que una entrada alta de White sobre Rodrigo Bruni que le dio otro penal para el 6-3
Pero Escocia, volvió a tomar la
delantera antes del descanso tras desechar un penal y tres puntos frente a los
postes para ir a la bandera sin que Argentina no pudiera defender un line y el
hooker Hamish Watson (37’) marcó un try en su aparición Nº 50 y que fue su
séptimo ensayo para el parcial de 8-6.
El segunda línea porteño Guido Petti Pagadizábal, pareció dar esperanzas a los Pumas al apoyar un try, que fue anulado por pase adelantado del wing rosarino Juan Imhoff al principio de la jugada. Para más, al full back rosarino Emiliano Boffelli el árbitro francés Mathieu Raynal le sacó amarilla a los 52’ por matar el juego.
La miseria de Los Pumas continuó cuando el apertura cordobés Santiago Carreras parecía seguro de apoyar, pero perdió el control de la pelota bajo la presión del pilar izquierdo Rory Darge que alcanzó a manotear y allí se esfumaron las limitadas opciones del equipo entrenado por el australiano Michael Cheika.
Los Pumas intentaron remontar la pendiente, pero cometieron errores básic os de manejo como reiterados knock-on, y falta de toma de decisiones que fueron erróneas al momento de marcar para el descuento, frente a una defensa de jerarquía que no desperdició sus ocasiones de aumentar.
Escocia cerró una jornada del hemisferio norte, comenzada con triunfo ajustado de Francia ante Japón por 20-15 en el Ajinomoto Stadium de Tokio, luego Irlanda superó a los All Blacks 23-12 en el Sky Stadium de Dunedin, Inglaterra ganó a los Wallabies 25-17 en el Suncorp de Brisbane y Gales dio cuenta de los Springboks por 13-12 en el Free State Stadium de Bloemfontein.
La serie ante Escocia concluirá el próximo sábado 16 de julio en el estadio ‘’Madres
de Ciudades’’ de la Ciudad de Santiago

At the
''Padre Ernesto Martearena'' Stadium in City of Salta, Argentina fell resoundingly to
Scotland 29-6 (8-6), so they will point to the third match next Saturday at the
''Madres de Ciudades'' in Santiago del Ester City, to win the Winter Series in
the Southern Hemisphere.
Scotland
recovered from the defeat conceded at the 23 de Agosto stadium in the City of
San Salvador de Jujuy, and turned the score around in Salta, winning with 4
tries from Hamish Watson, Mark Bennett, Matt Fagerson and Sam Johnson, plus 1
Penalty goal and 2 conversions from Blair Kinghorn, and 1 conversion from Ross
Thompson
Scotland,
after faltering 26-18 in Jujuy, got off to a fast start on a hot afternoon and
fly-half Blair Kinghorn hit a penalty goal 4’ into the game. Then Rosario’s full back Emiliano Boffelli tied the score
before White's high tackle on number eight Rodrigo Bruni gave him another
penalty for 6-3.
But Scotland, took the lead again before the break after discarding a penalty and three points in front of the posts to go to the flag without Argentina being unable to defend a line and hooker Hamish Watson (37') scored a try in his appearance No. 50 and that was his seventh try for the 8-6 run.
