Mañana comienza la octava edición de la Copa
de Naciones con Rumania como anfitrión y último
campeón ganando a los puntos en Bucarest y donde superaron a los
Jaguares 23-21. Hoy los rivales de los
Jaguares son tres seleccionados aspirantes a entrar en el mundial Inglaterra
2015: Rumania y Rusia. Mientras que Italia A necesita crecer en los tres
encuentros ha disputarse en quince días.
Los Jaguares capitaneados por el octavo cordobés Rodrigo Bruno, se presenta como escuadra fogueada y de gran rodaje en
lo que va del año, compitiendo en la Vodacom Cup sudafricana donde llegó a
cuartos de final y luego ganando el Campeonato Sudamericano de Mayores en
Montevideo.
Hay buen trabajo en el scrum, buena maniobra
desde la base de las formaciones por el eje profundo por lo que viene bien
enfrentar la dureza dos equipos profesionales como los rusos y los rumanos que
aspiran a entrar en la franja de la élite mundial. El line contará con dos
torres de la imponencia de Matías Alemanno y César Ignacio Fruttero.
Los tres cuartos tienen aquilatada
experiencia con el apertura rosarino Sebastián Poet, el wing cordobés Facundo
Barrea y el centro rosarino Juan Pablo Estellés. La primera línea de impronta
bonaerense-tucumana con Ramiro Herrera, Emiliano Coria y Roberto Tejerizo,
impone técnica, destreza y determinación.

La Copa de Naciones tiene como objetivo
ofrecer una mayor competencia de nivel uno y ofrecer oportunidades de segundo y
tercer nivel a Portugal, Rusia, Namibia,
Uruguay, Georgia y Rumania enfrentando a segundas representaciones de
Sudáfrica, Argentina e Italia, desde su inauguración en 2006 ganada por Argentina A en Lisboa.
Luego
la segunda selección nacional pasó a llamarse Jaguares en 2008 cuando dejó el
torneo para jugar en la Copa Churchill, Namibia también se retiró. Uruguay y
Rusia ocuparon sus lugares.
Los
Springboks emergentes se coronaron campeones en 2007 y por segunda vez en 2008
con un récord de 100%. Luego en 2009 vio la incorporación de Escocia A y
Francia A ganando los escoceses sobre
los franceses e italianos.
En 2010,
Namibia y Jaguares, regresaron y
Namibia ganó mientras que en 2011 el cetro correspondió a los South African
Kings que no participó en 2012, ganando el torneo el anfitrión Rumania
superando en los puntos a los Jaguares e Italia A que había estado ausente en
2011.

Tomorrow
begins the eighth edition of the Nations Cup in Romania as host and defending
