Hace treinta  años, como hoy lunes 29 de agosto de 2022 (fue un 29 de agosto de 1992 en el mítico "Newlands Stadium’’ de Ciudad del Cabo, la capital legislativa de Sudáfrica, en el extremo austral de Sudáfrica, y frente a los Wallabies de Australia, fui testigo de la vuelta de los Springboks a la competición mundial, guiados por el genio del apertura Hendrik Egnatius "Naas" Botha,

Los Springboks dieron el primer paso para llevar nuevamente Sudáfrica de manera oficial, al concierto del rugby internacional, tras 11 años de aislamiento, impuesto por Naciones Unidas,  debido al gobierno de Sudáfrica que había impuesto el “apartheid” (la cultura y las razas separadas).

Recuerdo la tarde, donde se respiraba el aire festivo en Ciudad del Cabo,  donde los Springboks cayeron en esa jornada sabatina, ante los Wallabies, que golearon por 26-3, en el emblemático Newlands, tras haber sido derrotados dos semanas atrás por los All Blacks por 27-24 en el mítico Ellis Park de Johannesburgo.

Fue el acontecimiento de aquellos años 90, donde el mundo hablaba todavía del segundo campeonato mundial organizado por Inglaterra en 1991, con subsedes en Gales, Escocia, Irlanda y Francia, y donde el campeón fue Australia que le ganó al anfitrión Inglaterra 12-6 en la Catedral de Twickenham, con capitán John Eales.

Los Wallabies ese 29 de agosto de 1992, batieron a los Springboks por 26-3 en el mítico estadio de "Newlands" después que los  All Blacks en Ellis Park, fueron protagonistas de aquel hito que significó la vuelta oficial de los Springboks al alto nivel de la competición del rugby XV.

Otro inolvidable recuerdo vivido fue aquel 1995, con Springboks campeones mundiales por primera vez (la segunda fue en Francia 2007 y la tercera en Japón 2019) en el templo del “Ellis Park” gracias al tremendo drop en tiempo de descuento del apertura  Joel Stransky para ganar a los All Blacks 15-12, y con el presidente de Sudáfrica, Nelson Madiba Mandela en la tribuna.

Gran emoción al recordar aquel XV de Sudáfrica ese 15 de agosto como aquel 29 de agosto  de 1992 ante Nueva Zelanda y Australia, respectivamente, con protagonistas como Adolf  Malan, Adri Geldenhuys, Naas Botha, Heinrich Rodgers, Uli Schmidt, Lood Muller, Wahl Bartman, Ian McDonald, James Small, Jannie Breedt, Robert du Preez, Pieter Müller, Danie Gerber, Pieter Hendriks y Theo van Rensburg.

Thirty years ago, like today, Monday, August 29, 2022 (it was August 29, 1992 at the mythical "Newlands Stadium" in Cape Town, the legislative capital of South Africa, in southernmost part of South Africa, and in front of the Wallabies of Australia, I witnessed the return of the Springboks to world competition, guided by the genius of  fly half Hendrik Egnatius "Naas" Botha,

The Springboks took the first step to officially bring South Africa back to the international rugby concert, after 11 years of isolation, imposed by the United Nations, due to the South African government that had imposed "apartheid" (separate culture and races). ).

I remember the afternoon, where the festive air was breathed in Cape Town, where the Springboks fell on that Saturday day, against the Wallabies, who thrashed 26-3, in the emblematic Newlands, after having been defeated two weeks ago by the All Blacks 27-24 at the legendary Ellis Park in Johannesburg.

It was the event of those years 90, where the world was still talking about the second world championship organized by England in 1991, with branches in Wales, Scotland, Ireland and France, and where the champion was Australia who beat the host England 12-6 in Twickenham Cathedral, with Captain John Eales.

Il y a trente ans, comme aujourd'hui, le lundi 29 août 2022 (c'était le 29 août 1992 au mythique "Newlands Stadium" de Cape Town, la capitale législative de l'Afrique du Sud, à l'extrême sud de l'Afrique du Sud, et devant les Wallabies d'Australie, j'ai assisté au retour des Springboks à la compétition mondiale, guidé par le génie de l’ouvreur Hendrik Egnatius "Naas" Botha,

Les Springboks ont fait le premier pas pour ramener officiellement l'Afrique du Sud au concert international de rugby, après 11 ans d'isolement, imposé par les Nations Unies, en raison du gouvernement sud-africain qui avait imposé "l'apartheid" (culture et races séparées).
