Final de gira por el otoño-invierno británico para Argentina, que encajo ante Escocia su segunda derrota por 52-29 (19-15) en el Murrayfield Stadium de Edimburgo. Argentina jugó bajo indisciplina alucinante, con tarjeta roja para el flanker Marcos Kremer dejando a los Pumas por una hora con 14 y llegaron a tener 12 en cancha, con  las tarjetas amarillas a los 49’  a los segundas líneas Matías Alemanno y Tomás Lavanini y luego al pilar tucumano Thomas Gallo (62’).

Pero los Pumas de alguna manera lograron mantener el marcador a la par durante 11’. La figura en Murrayfield bajo 9º grados Celsius de temperatura al puntapié inicial, fue el apertura Finn Russell, involucrado en los 8 tries escoceses, y convirtiendo 6 de ellos, para sumar 12 puntos.

Russell que no había sido convocado por el entrenador Gregor Townsend en la gira de julio pasado por Argentina, expresó: "Logramos algunos grandes tries y por momentos fue una buena actuación nuestra, aunque todavía tenemos que aprender a jugar durante los 80’, y fue genial estar de vuelta, en Murrayfield’’.

Pero en Murrayfield, sobresalió la indisciplina, donde hubo 6 tarjetas,  4 en contra de Argentina, por parte del árbitro inglés Karl Dickson: roja al flanker entrerriano Marcos Kremer a los 22’ y amarillas al cordobés Matías Alemanno, al porteño Tomás Lavanini a los 49’ y al pilar tucumano Thomas Gallo a los 62’.

El wing derecho Darcy Graham apoyó hat-trick; el centro Sione Tuipulotu, apoyó dos tries y tuvo tarjeta amarilla, luego marcaron el centro suplente debutante Cameron Redpath, el wing izquierdo sudafricano Duhan van der Merwe y el full back Stuart Hogg. El flanker y capitán Jamie Ritchie tuvo la 2da. Amarilla.

Para Los Pumas hubo tries del centro rosarino Jerónimo De La Fuente (16'), del segunda línea cordobés Matías Alemanno (39'), del wing rosarino Emiliano Boffelli (52'), y del hooker suplente porteño  Ignacio Ruiz (80'), más 1 penal de Boffelli (2'), y 3 conversiones de Boffelli (40')(53') y 1 del apertura suplente tucumano Nicolás Sánchez (80').

Le bilan a été complété par une victoire 30-29 contre l'Angleterre à Stade Twickenham, Londres et une défaite 20-13 contre le Pays de Galles en Stade Principality, de Cardiff.

En el frío polar de Edimburgo, Argentina (6º) va en búsqueda de cerrar una positiva gira por el otoño-invierno británico, enfrentando mañana a Escocia (9º) en el templo del Murrayfield Stadium, tras haber sufrido un contraste inesperado hace una semana en el Principality Stadium de Cardiff frente a Gales por 20-13.

Hay cuatro cambios para Michael Cheika, respecto a los Pumas que cayeron ante los Dragones Rojos de Gales hace una semana. El centro de la línea de zagueros recupera su clave con el rosarino Jerónimo de la Fuente y el tucumano Matías Orlando.

En primera línea se confirma al pilar derecho villamariense Eduardo Bello, y el hooker porteño Julián Montoya, sustituye al platense Agustín Creevy; y se convoca en banco de suplentes al medio scrum cordobés Lautaro Bazán Vélez y al apertura tucumano Nicolás Sánchez.

Por el lado de Escocia se apunta al octavo australiano Jack Dempsey que es una de las dos modificaciones realizadas por Gregor Townsend, con el segunda línea  Jonny Gray que reemplaza a su hermano Richie, quien está suspendido.

Dempsey, será fundamental en una línea de fondo del pack de delanteros que completan los flankers  Matt Fagerson y el capitán Jamie Ritchie. Allí se verá la batalla con el flanker mendocino Juan Martín González, el entrerriano Marcos Kremer y el porteño Pablo Matera.

Lo que cuenta, es que Argentina se presenta peligrosa en éste final de gira británica tras una temporada con victorias ante Escocia, Nueva Zelanda, Australia e Inglaterra. Y de cara al 10º Mundial en Francia 2023.

En ránking 2022, si Los Pumas que están en 6º lugar, ganan a Escocia en 9º escalón, por más de 15 puntos, y si Inglaterra (5º) pierde frente a Nueva Zelanda (3º), por más de 15 puntos, subirían al 5º lugar. Si Escocia vence por más de 15 puntos podría superar Argentina y quedarse con la 6ta. posición.

Pumas aim to remain undefeated against Wales Red Dragons
