Los Dogos XV apuntan al liderato en localía de semifinales del SRA- The Dogos XV aim for home advantage in the SRA semifinals-

 

Los Dogos XV van a definir la instancia clasificatoria a semifinales del IV Super Rugby Americas 2026, buscando la localía en semifinales, en su visita a Selknam por la 11ª jornada que se disputará el sábado 9 de mayo en el Saint Georges´s College de Santiago de Chile a las 16:00 hora argentina.

Dogos XV es el líder del torneo con 41 puntos, a la vez que Selknam en 4º lugar suma 31; mientras que Pampas, en 2º lugar cuenta con 38 unidades, y recibirá a Tarucas que está 5º con 24 unidades.

Capibaras XV que es el tercer equipo en la tabla cuenta con 35 puntos y dependerá de ganarle a Yacaré XV (7º) con bonus y que Tarucas no sume ante Pampas y que Peñarol no le gane a Cobras Brasil.

Selknam busca el 4º escalón de la tabla, que promociona a las semifinales, por lo que Dogos XV capitaneado por el flanker Valentín Cabral (Córdoba Athletic Club), y liderado por el medio scrum Nicolás Viola (Jockey Club Córdoba), van a la alta intensidad.

En franquicia cordobesa entrenada por riocuartence Diego Ghiglione, y cordobeses capitalinos Galo Álvarez Quiñones y Stéfano Ambrosio, destaca el hooker Juan Ignacio Greising Revol (Club La Tablada), máximo tryman del torneo con 11 tries en 10 jornadas.

Por detrás de Greising Revol, se ubica Augusto Bohme, de Selknam, con 7 tries, y en tercer lugar con 6 tries está el quinteto formado por Ignacio Bottazzini y Santiago Pernas de Pampas, Joaquín Myszka Mace de Peñarol, Facundo Pueyrredón de Dogos XV, y Franco Rossetto, de Capibaras XV.

The Dogos XV aim for home advantage in the SRA semifinals

The Dogos XV will be looking to secure home advantage in the semifinals of the 2026 IV Super Rugby Americas  tournament when they visit Selknam for the 11th round of matches, to be played on Saturday, May 9th at Saint George's College in Santiago, Chile at 4:00 PM Argentinian time.

Dogos XV currently leads the tournament with 41 points, while Selknam sits in 4th place with 31. Pampas, in 2nd place with 38 points, will host Tarucas, who are in 5th place with 24 points.

Capibaras XV, currently third in the standings with 35 points, will need to beat Yacaré XV (7th) with a bonus point, and hope that Tarucas fail to win against Pampas and that Peñarol doesn't beat Cobras Brasil.

Selknam is aiming for fourth place, which would qualify them for the semifinals. Dogos XV, captained by flanker Valentín Cabral (Córdoba Athletic Club) and led by scrum-half Nicolás Viola (Jockey Club Córdoba), will be playing with high intensity.

The Córdoba franchise, coached by Diego Ghiglione from Río Cuarto and Galo Álvarez Quiñones and Stéfano Ambrosio from Córdoba City, features hooker Juan Ignacio Greising Revol (Club La Tablada), the tournament's top try scorer with 11 tries in 10 rounds.

En resultado histórico, Los Pumitas vencieron a los All Blacks Juniors por 25-17 (15-12) en la segunda ronda del Rugby Championship M20 que se está disputando en el Nelson Mandela Bay de Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha), sureste sudafricano.

Los Juniors Springboks ganaron a los Wallabies Juniors por 56-17 y se proclamaron campeones del torneo al sumar 10 puntos por 4 de All Blacks Juniors y Pumitas y 1 punto para Wallabies Juniors, a falta de una ronda que se disputará el sábado 9 de mayol

A los 16’, abrió el marcador Try de Federico Serpa, aumentó con penal a los 25’, Serpa; descontó a los 33’, try de Haki Wiseman convertido por Mika Muliaina; a los 36’, hubo Try-Penal para Pumitas  y a los 39’, Try de JD Van Der Westhuizen para Baby Blacks.

Esta victoria marca un hito para el seleccionado argentino M20, logrando imponerse con carácter actitud y destreza a los bicampeones neozelandeses tras debutar con derrota ante Juniors Springboks

Argentina venía de caer por 48-21 ante Sudáfrica en debut del certamen y puso de relieve un juego sólido y de gran determinación para dar "el golpe sobre la mesa" en el torneo.

 

En la edición 2025 del mismo torneo, Nueva Zelanda M20 había dominado ampliamente a Argentina M20 con marcador de 75-21 en la misma sede.

In a historic score, the Pumitas defeated the All Blacks Juniors 25-17 (15-12) in second round of Rugby Championship U20, being held at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth (Geberha), southeastern South Africa.

The Junior Springboks defeated the Wallabies Juniors 56-17 and were crowned champions of the tournament with 10 points, compared to 4 for the All Blacks Juniors and Pumitas, and 1 point for the Wallabies Juniors, with one round remaining to be played on Saturday, May 9.

Federico Serpa opened the scoring in the 16th minute with a try, and Serpa added another with a penalty in the 25th minute. Haki Wiseman narrowed the gap in the 33rd minute with a try converted by Mika Muliaina. At 36', there was a penalty try for Argentina U20, and at 39', a try by JD Van Der Westhuizen for the Baby Blacks.

Yellow cards were shown to Jack Frost at 35' and Ethan Weber at 37' (both from New Zealand).

Halftime score: Argentina 15 - New Zealand 12.

In second half, Luciano Avaca scored his third try in a spectacular cost-to-cost run at 56', and Ramón Fernández Miranda added another at 71'. Finn McLeod scored for the All Blacks Juniors at 74'.

This victory marks a milestone for the Argentine U20 team, who managed to overcome the two-time defending champions, New Zealand, with character, attitude, and skill after debuting with a loss against the Juniors Springboks.

Argentina had previously lost 48-21 to South Africa in their tournament opener and demonstrated a solid and determined performance to make a statement in the tournament.

In the 2025 edition of the same tournament, New Zealand U20 dominated Argentina U20 with a score of 75-21 at the same venue.

The third and final day will take place on Saturday, May 9, with Argentina vs. Australia at 9:00 AM Argentinian time, and South Africa vs. New Zealand at 11:10 AM Argentinian time.
