En la madrugada del viernes 28 de marzo, los Pumas 7 del Pacífico Sur defenderán su liderato en el Hong Kong Sevens, quinta etapa de la Serie Mundial de Sevens 2024-2025, donde suman 68 puntos.

Los Pumas 7s, liderados por los cordobeses Germán Schulz y Luciano González Rizzoni, en el Grupo A, enfrentarán Irlanda (2:11 a. m.), Estados Unidos (5:21 a. m.) y Fidji el sábado (13:11), en horario argentino.

El Hong Kong Sevens se jugará por primera vez en el Kai Tak Sports Park, con capacidad para 50.000 espectadores, en reemplazo del legendario Estadio de Hong Kong.

El cuarteto de Córdoba, Luciano González Rizzoni (La Tablada), Germán Schulz (Tala), Facundo Pueyrredón (La Tablada) y Santino Zangara (Tala), aspira a destacar en torneos de Hong Kong y Singapur.

Los Pumas 7s debutarán en el suroeste asiático, con el torneo de Hong Kong del viernes 28 de marzo al domingo 30 de marzo, seguido del torneo de Singapur, entre sábado 5 de abril y domingo 6 de abril.

Los Pumas 7s conquistaron medallas de oro en Seven de Perth, en extremo oeste australiano, y Seven de Vancouver, en extremo noroeste canadiense, con el entrenador tucumano Leonardo Gravano.

Ahora, regresa el entrenador porteño Santiago Gómez Cora. Los Pumas 7s fueron finalistas en Hong Kong en 2004, perdiendo ante Inglaterra por 22-12. En 2024, fueron eliminados en primera fase, finalizando en 9º lugar.

En Hong Kong y Singapur disputarán la quinta y sexta etapa de la temporada regular, con el objetivo final de coronar al campeón de la liga.

En mayo, el campeón del año se decidirá en Seven de Los Ángeles, con los ocho mejores equipos. Argentina 7s lidera la tabla con 68 puntos, 2º España con 64, y 3º Fidji y Sudáfrica con 62, que son los rivales directos.

The Pumas 7s will defend their leadership in Hong Kong

In the early hours of Friday, March 28, the Pumas 7s in the South Pacific will defend their leadership in the Hong Kong Sevens, the fifth stage of the 2024-2025 World Sevens Series, where they have 68 points.

The Pumas 7s, led by Cordoba's players Germán Schulz and Luciano González Rizzoni, in Pool A will face Ireland (2:11 AM), United States (5:21 AM), and Fiji on Saturday (1:11 AM), also in Argentinian time.

The Hong Kong Sevens will be played for the first time at the Kai Tak Sports Park, with a capacity for 50,000 spectators, replacing the legendary Hong Kong Stadium.

The Córdoba's quartet, Luciano González Rizzoni (La Tablada), Germán Schulz (Tala), Facundo Pueyrredón (La Tablada), and Santino Zangara (Tala), is aiming high to excel at the Hong Kong and Singapore Sevens.

Los Pumas 7s will begin their challenge in Southwest Asia with the Hong Kong Sevens, from Friday, March 28th to Sunday, March 30th, followed by the Singapore Sevens, from Saturday, April 5th to Sunday, April 6th.

Los Pumas 7s had outstanding performances with the Gold medals in Perth Sevens, in the Australian Far West, and Vancouver Sevens , in the Canadian Far Northwest, under guidance of Tucuman's coach, Leonardo Gravano.

Now, Buenos Aires's coach Santiago Gómez Cora returns. Los Pumas 7s were finalists in Hong Kong in 2004, losing face England by 22-12; and in 2024, was eliminated in first round, they will finish in 9th place.

Hong Kong and Singapore will be the fifth and sixth stages of the regular season, with the ultimate goal of crowning the league champion.

In May, the year's champion will be decided at the Los Angeles Sevens, among the top eight teams. Argentina 7s leads the table with 68 points, while Spain has 64, and Fiji and South Africa, their direct rivals, have 62.
