El sábado con La Tablada y Tala recibiendo a
Tucumán Rugby y Los Tarcos, y el Jockey Club Córdoba visitando a uno de
los campeones del NOA, Huirapuca, comienza el
12° Torneo del Interior donde compiten los 16 equipos de los máximos certámenes Regionales, pero
donde no habrá televisión nacional.
La UAR (Unión Argentina de Rugby), organiza el certamen y rectificó el fixture
donde los equipos tucumanos Huirapuca y Cardenales cambiaron zonas por lo que
el Jockey Club Córdoba, visitará Huirapuca por la Zona 3 y Cardenales recibirá
en Zona 4 a Universitario de Tucumán.
Pero el campeonato más importante de
Argentina fuera del egido de Buenos Aires, no tendrá visibilidad televisiva por
no haber estado en la programación de la UAR, que si autoriza a la URBA (Unión
de Buenos Aires), la transmisión en vivo para televisión nacional del Torneo
Top 14.
Precisamente 9 de los 16 equipos del Torneo
del Interior, disputarán en 2014 el Campeonato Nacional de Clubes con 7 representantes
del Top 14 bonaerense. Se jugará a partir de
marzo de 2014 y estará programado en cuatro zonas de 4 equipos. Los partidos
serían los viernes, sábado o domingo.
En 1998 cuando comenzó el Torneo del Interior con 43 clubes divididos en dos categorías, el primer campeón fue el Jockey Club Córdoba, que se impuso en la final a Maristas de Mendoza 25-13 y que repitió en 1999 superando Duendes de Rosario 26-13. La Tablada lo ganó por última vez en 2011 ante Duendes 37-27.
Mientras que Carlos Ayala entrenador de La Tablada tricampeón de Córdoba, matizó: “Es un gran torneo y hay que estar a la altura del mismo porque uno se encuentra con campeones o subcampeones y por lo tanto están acostumbrados a pelear por los campeonatos regionales”.
“Aquí vale mucho la experiencia y la capacidad de adaptación a medida que transcurre la competencia, no solo con Tucumán Rugby, que tiene un rugby muy dinámico, sino con el resto de los rivales”, apuntó “Carlín” Ayala.
El Torneo del
Interior se jugó de manera consecutiva hasta 2005, pero por fallas
organizativas de la UAR se interrumpió por cuatro temporadas, reanudándose en
2009. La Tablada y Duendes lo ganaron tres veces, Jockey Club Córdoba y Jockey
Club de Rosario dos y Tala una. Por lo
que hay predominancia cordobesa de 6 a 4 .
En la edición 2013, el grupo 2 es el más
equilibrado en sus pretensiones con Duendes de Rosario, campeón saliente y
campeón del Litoral, que enfrentará al sub campeón cordobés Tala, al sub campeón cuyano Liceo y al tercero del
NOA: Los Tarcos. La fase regular proseguirá el 14 y 21 de septiembre.
Los cuartos de final están programados para el 28, las semifinales el 5 de octubre y la final el 12. Clasifican los dos primeros de cada grupo y los que no clasifiquen se eliminarán para determinar al noveno equipo que participará del Nacional.

Pero cordobeses
y rosarinos se reparten los títulos y
disputaron la final de 2011, mientras que los tucumanos que nunca lo ganaron, se
proponen protagonistas en todos los grupos, comenzando por el 1 con Tucumán Rugby, y
siguiendo con Los Tarcos, Huirapuca,
Cardenales y Universitario, en ese
orden.
Los
rosarinos además de Duendes, cuentan con Universitario (grupo 1), Jockey Club
(grupo 3), y Gimnasia y Esgrima (grupo 4); mientras que los mendocinos también quieren destacar,
aportando sus pretensiones con Liceo en grupo 2 y Los Tordos en grupo 4. Las zonas:
Grupo 1: La Tablada, Mar del Plata Rugby, Tucumán Rugby y Universitario (Rosario).
Grupo 2: Duendes, Tala R.C., Liceo y Los Tarcos.
Grupo 3: Huirapuca, Jockey de Rosario, Jockey Córdoba y Santiago Lawn Tennis.
Grupo 4: Los Tordos, Cardenales, Gimnasia y Esgrima de Rosario y Universitario (Tucumán).
