Irlanda va por el tricampeonato del Seis Naciones- Ireland is going for the third Six Nations championship- L'Irlande vise le triple championnat des Six Nations.

 

Los Shamrocks de Irlanda,  únicos invictos tras disputarse la segunda ronda del Seis Naciones 2025, suman 10 puntos, por delante de Les Bleus de Francia  y de los Red Roses de Inglaterra con 6 unidades.

El triunfo por 32-18 sobre Escocia confirma Irlanda, como el único equipo que ganó las dos primeras fechas y en ambas con el punto bonus, En tercera ronda visitarán a Italia  el 22 de febrero.

Irlanda no dejó dudas en ningún momento. Aún lejos del nivel superlativo de 2023 y buena performance en 2024, sigue a paso firme y es el favorito para quedarse con el tercer Seis Naciones consecutivo.

En mítico templo de Murrayfieldf, Irlanda  ganó el clásico estratégico a Escocia  en primer tiempo accidentado con cuatro jugadores con protocolo por conmoción cerebral, por golpes en la cabeza.

En Irlanda los segundas líneas Tadhg Beirne y Ryan Baird pudieron regresar, pero en Escocia el apertura Finn Russell  y el wing Darcy Graham sufrieron choque fortísimo, y no pudieron regresar a la  cancha.

El wing tuvo que dejar la cancha en camilla en primer tiempo en que además el centro Bundee Aki se vio envuelto en sangre por otro golpe.

El wing Calvin Nash con try, abrió el marcador para Irlanda y aumentó a los 30’ el  octavo y capitán Caelan Dorís, una de las figuras, y principal candidato a capitanear a los British & Irish Lions en el 2025.

Con espectacular try en pirueta en la bandera, el wing sudafricano Duhan van der Merwe replicó para Escocia en pausa de 5-17, y descontó dos veces con full back Blair Kinghorn pero no alcanzó para igualar.

Ahora Irlanda tiene el objetivo de renovar plantel de cara al XI Mundial de Australia 2027, siendo uno el del apertura debutante Sam Prendergast, que busca consolidarse a  los 21 años y con sus 1.93 de altura.

Juega en la selección provincial de Leinster, que es la base del seleccionado irlandés, para quedarse con la camiseta de 10, que ostentó la leyenda Johnny Sexton tras el X Mundial de Francia 2023.

 

Si bien Prendergast debe competir con Jack Crowley, de Munster, quien fue apertura en  2024 y cumplió con creces a sus 25 años entrando como full back suplente y llegó  a como a ser apertura titular en el tramo final.

Pero en los Shamrocks está siempre vigente la decisiva impronta neozelandesa, con el medio scrum Jamison Gibson-Park, el desequilibrante wing  James Lowe y la potencia del centro Bundee Aki.

También está factor importante de Irlanda en gestión del banco de suplentes, con el flanker Jack Conan que volvió a marcar un try, del hooker  Dan Sheehan que trajo energía y pilar izquierdo Cian Healy.

Cian Healy, es el irlandés con más caps en la historia del Seis Naciones, superando leyenda Brian O´Driscoll con 66 caps, y sólo por detrás del galés Alun Wyn Jones (67) y del italiano Sergio Parisse (69).

Escocia empezó bien ante Italia en Murrayfield, pero no consigue dar el salto que necesita esta buena generación, con momentos de buen rugby, pero que no logra equiparar a las potencias.

En dos semanas Escocia visitará a Inglaterra, en la Catedral de Twickenham, para un clásico cargado de historia con la Calcutta Cup en disputa, y que supo verse favorable en los últimos años.

Irlanda está encaminado a conquistar lo que hasta ahora nadie alcanzó en Seis Naciones: ganar tres títulos seguidos; y ahora con puntaje ideal visitará Gales en el emblemático Principality de Cardiff.

Será el sábado 22 de febrero a las 10:15 hora argentina, cuando los Shamrocks, ampliamente favoritos, enfrenten a los Dragones Rojos de Gales, ya sumergidos en la Cuchara de Madera.

 Ireland is going for the third Six Nations championship.

The Ireland’s Shamrocks, the only undefeated after the second round of the 2025 Six Nations, have 10 points, ahead of France’s Les Bleus and the England’s  Red Roses with 6 points.

The 32-18 victory over Scotland confirms Ireland, as the only team that won the first two rounds and in both with the bonus point. In the third round they will visit Italy on February 22.

Ireland left no doubts at any time. Still far from the superlative level of 2023 and good performance in 2024, it continues on a steady pace and is the favorite to win the third consecutive Six Nations.

At mythical temple of Murrayfield, Ireland won the strategic clash against Scotland in an accident-filled first half with four players with concussion protocol, due to blows to the head.

In Ireland, locks Tadhg Beirne and Ryan Baird were able to return, but in Scotland, fly half Finn Russell and wing Darcy Graham suffered a very bad crash and were unable to return to the pitch.

The wing had to leave the pitch on a stretcher in the first half, when centre Bundee Aki was also covered in blood from another blow.

Wing Calvin Nash opened scoring for Ireland with a try, and number eight and captain Caelan Doris, one of the figures and main candidate to captain British & Irish Lions in 2025, increased lead in the 30th minute.

With a spectacular try in a pirouette on corner, South African wing Duhan van der Merwe replied for Scotland at a 5-17 break, and scored twice with full back Blair Kinghorn but it was not enough to equalise.

Now Ireland has objective of renewing squad for the XI World Cup in Australia 2027, one of which is debutant fly-half Sam Prendergast, who is looking to establish himself at 21 years old and with his 1.93m height.

He plays for the Leinster provincial team, which is the base of the Irish team, to keep the number 10 shirt, which was worn by the legend Johnny Sexton after the X World Cup in France 2023.

Scotland started well against Italy at Murrayfield, but has not managed to make the leap that this good generation needs, with moments of good rugby, but which cannot match the powers.

In two weeks Scotland will visit England, at Twickenham Cathedral, for a clash  full of history with the Calcutta Cup in play, and which has been favourable in recent years.

Ireland is on its way to conquering what no one has achieved in the Six Nations so far: winning three titles in a row; and now with a perfect score will visit Wales at the emblematic Principality of Cardiff.

 

It will be on Saturday, February 22 at 10:15 Argentinian time, when Shamrocks, widely favored, face Wales’s Red Dragons, already submerged in the Wooden Spoon.

Les Shamrocks d'Irlande, seuls invaincus après avoir disputé le deuxième tour des Six Nations 2025, comptent 10 points, devant les Bleus de France et les Red Roses d'Angleterre avec 6 points.

La victoire 32-18 contre l'Écosse confirme l'Irlande, seule équipe à avoir remporté les deux premiers tours et avec le point bonus au troisième tour, elle se rendra en Italie le 22 février.

L'Irlande n'a laissé aucun doute à aucun moment. Encore loin du niveau superlatif de 2023 et des bonnes performances de 2024, il continue sur un rythme ferme et fait figure de favori pour remporter le troisième Tournoi des 6 Nations consécutif.

L'Écosse a bien commencé contre l'Italie à Murrayfield, mais ne parvient pas à faire le saut dont cette bonne génération a besoin, avec des moments de bon rugby, mais qui n'est pas à la hauteur des puissances.

Dans deux semaines, l'Écosse se rendra en Angleterre, à la cathédrale de Twickenham, pour un défi  chargé d'histoire avec en lice la Coupe Calcutta, et qui lui a été favorable ces dernières années.

L'Irlande est en passe de réaliser ce que personne n'a réalisé jusqu'à présent dans Six Nations : remporter trois titres d'affilée ; et maintenant avec un score idéal, il se rendra au Pays de Galles à l'emblématique Principauté de Cardiff.

Ce sera le samedi 22 février à 10h15, heure argentine, que les Shamrocks, largement favoris, affronteront les Dragons Rouges du Pays de Galles, déjà plongés dans la Cuillère en Bois.
