En la tercera y última ronda del 1er. Rugby Championship M20 el domingo en el Sunshine Coast Stadium en Bokarina, Queensland,  noreste de Australia (00:30 hora argentina),  los Pumitas de Efraín Elías, enfrentarán a los Juniors Springboks buscando la primer corona juvenil del hemisferio sur.

En Los Pumitas liderados por el segunda línea Efraín Elías y el centro Faustino Sánchez Valarolo, de los Dogos XV, debutan el hooker Juan Greising Revol del Club La Tablada de Córdoba, y el apertura Facundo Rodríguez del Jockey Club Córdoba, apuntando al Mundial M20 en Sudáfrica del 29 de junio al 19 de julio.

El seleccionado que entrenan el tucumano Álvaro Galindo, el cordobés Galo Álvarez Quiñones y el porteño Carlos Mohapp,  juega ante Sudáfrica con la motivación de ganar y esperar a que Wallabies Juniors den cuenta de los All Blacks Juniors en el clásico del Pacífico Sur.

Para Galo Álvarez Quiñones, "El equipo llega muy bien, con muy buen estado de ánimo y mucha confianza, teniendo muy claro cuáles son sus fortalezas y bases sólidas para el partido, también habiendo trabajado en los temas a mejorar después del partido ante Nueva Zelanda. Tenemos a todo el equipo disponible para jugar, con ganas de ser competitivos y ganar. Esperemos que todo salga según lo planeado".

Si  los Pumitas vencen a los Baby Boks con punto bonus, frente a un empate o una derrota de los Baby Blacks ante los Baby Wallabies, se coronarían campeones. Ahora, si se imponen sin el punto bonus, deben esperar a que los neozelandeses no le ganen a los australianos.

Un contraste  de Los Pumitas cambiaría el escenario y los dejaría sin chances de obtener el campeonato, más allá del resultado de  cómo concluyan  Nueva Zelanda y Australia. Porque la puntuación no le alcanzará, teniendo en cuenta que es la tercera y última jornada.

Los Pumitas están segundos con 5 puntos, por detrás de los All Blacks Juniors que suman 7 y por delante de los Wallabies Juniors con 4 y los Júniors Springboks con 3, y que serán los anfitriones en el Mundial M20 de Sudáfrica 2024 en Ciudad del Cabo del 29 de junio al 19 de julio.

Zachary Porthen no estuvo contra los Wallabies Juniors,  debido a una lesión en la mano, pero está de regreso en la alineación titular para liderar un equipo Junior Bok que muestra once cambios para su tercer y último partido de la nueva competición 4 Naciones M20 del hemisferio sur.

Sólo cuatro jugadores del equipo titular que cayó ante Austraia por 24-19,  seguirán titulares : el segunda línea y vice capitán JF van Heerden, el octavo Tiaan Jacobs, el wing izquierdo  Litelihle Bester  y el centro Jurenzo Julius. (el segundo vice capitán). 

Otros tres jugadores volverán a ser titulares, pero en diferentes posiciones: Bathobele Hlekani (flanker/segunda línea), así como Josh Boulle  segundo centro y el apertura  Phillip Albert van Niekerk . Entre los delanteros hay primera línea renovada con pilares Ruan Swart y Porthen y hooker Juan Smal. 

La segunda línea va con Van Heerden y Thomas Dyer, Hlanki, Sibabalwe Mahashe (flankers) y y octavo Tiaan Jacobs forman  trío ofensivo. En el fondo va el full back Bruce Sherwood,  el wing derecho Joel Leotlela que reemplaza a Josh  Boulle que va como segundo centro. 

Van Niekerk pasa del centro  al apertura y medio scrum será Ezekiel Ngobeni con Asad Moos ahora en el banco, junto a Liyema Ntshanga, Casper Badenhorst   y JC Mars. El entrenador de los  Juniors  Boks, Bafana Nhleko, dijo que el equipo quiere mostrar mejora y rendimiento.

Tras  el empate de 13-13 con Nueva Zelanda y la derrota de 24-19 ante Australia. Nhleko expresó:  "Nos damos cuenta de que la calidad del juego en los dos partidos anteriores no estuvo a la altura de nuestros estándares y son los pequeños márgenes los que nos siguen perjudicando".

Para resaltar:   “Hasta ahora no hemos podido encadenar pasajes de juego significativos para obtener recompensas, liberando así presión al rival y no hemos gestionado bien el partido, cuando tomamos la delantera en ambos partidos. “

´´Argentina demostró su capacidad contra Australia, especialmente en jugadas a balón parado y ellos, al igual que nosotros, querrían recuperarse de su decepción contra Nueva Zelanda, por lo que debemos mostrar actitud correcta para afrontar ese desafío”,  expresó Nhleko.

Pumitas against Juniors Springboks seeking first crown in the southern hemisphere

In the third and final round of the 1st. U20 Rugby Championship on Sunday at the Sunshine Coast Stadium in Bokarina, Queensland, northeastern Australia (00:30 Argentinian time), Efraín Elías's Pumitas will face the Juniors Springboks seeking the first youth crown in the southern hemisphere.

In Los Pumitas, led by the second row Efraín Elías and the centre Faustino Sánchez Valarolo, of Dogos XV, the hooker Juan Greising Revol of Club La Tablada de Córdoba, and fly-half Facundo Rodríguez of Jockey Club Córdoba debut, aiming for the U20 World Cup in South Africa from June 29 to July 19.

If the Pumitas beat the Baby Boks with a bonus point, compared to a draw or a loss for the Baby Blacks against the Baby Wallabies, they would be crowned champions. Now, if they win without the bonus point, they must wait until the New Zealanders beat the Australians.

A contrast from Los Pumitas would change the scenario and leave them with no chance of winning the championship, regardless of the result of how New Zealand and Australia finish. Because the score will not be enough, taking into account that it is the third and last day.

Only four players from the starting team that lost to Austraia 24-19 will continue to start: second row and vice captain JF van Heerden, number eight Tiaan Jacobs, left wing Litelihle Bester and centre Jurenzo Julius. (the second vice captain).

Three other players will start again, but in different positions: Bathobele Hlekani (flanker/second row), as well as Josh Boulle second centre and fly-half Phillip Albert van Niekerk. Among the forwards there is a renewed front line with props Ruan Swart and Porthen and hooker Juan Smal.

The second line goes with Van Heerden and Thomas Dyer, Hlanki, Sibabalwe Mahashe (flankers) and number eighth Tiaan Jacobs form an offensive trio. In the background is full back Bruce Sherwood, right wing Joel Leotlela who replaces Josh Boulle who goes as second centre.

Van Niekerk moves from centre to flyhalf and scrumhalf will be Ezekiel Ngobeni with Asad Moos now on the bench, alongside Liyema Ntshanga, Casper Badenhorst and JC Mars. Boks Juniors coach Bafana Nhleko said the team wants to show improvement and performance.

After the 13-13 draw with New Zealand and the 24-19 defeat against Australia. Nhleko said: "We realize that the quality of play in the previous two matches was not up to our standards and it is the small margins that continue to hurt us."

To highlight: “Until now we have not been able to chain significant passages of play to obtain rewards, thus releasing pressure on the rival and we have not managed the match well, when we took the lead in both matches. “

"Argentina showed their ability against Australia, especially in set pieces and they, like us, would like to recover from their disappointment against New Zealand, so we must show the right attitude to face that challenge," said Nhleko.

En la segunda ronda del 1er.  Rugby Championship M20, los All Blacks Juniors batieron a los Pumitas M20 por 43-20 (24-8), manteniendo invicto en el clásico juvenil disputado en el Sunshine Coast Stadium en Queenstown, Australia.

Bajo la lluvia en costa del noreste australiano, Nueva Zelanda M20 superó Argentina M20 marcando seis tries a tres para asegurar punto bonus y hacerse del primado sumando 7 puntos, por 5 de Argentina, 4 de Australia y 3 de Sudáfrica.

Argentina venía de golear a la anfitriona Australia 25-6 en la jornada inicial del jueves 2 de mayo y Nueva Zelanda resignó un empate de 13-13 con Sudáfrica. Por lo que será determinante el choque de la tercera y última jornada del próximo domingo.

Pero los All Blacks Juniors capitaneados por el Hooker Vernon Bason lanzó una ofensiva a todo campo con juego de mayor manejo de manos, bajo la intensa lluvia en el otoño australiano, con movimientos rápidos hacia los lados.

Los Pumitas M20 capitaneados por el segunda línea cordobés Efraín Elías que marcó su try a los 28’, replicaron pero luego fueron superados en juego desplegado por el apertura goleador neozelandes Rico Simpson.

The All Blacks Juniors remain undefeated with U20 Pumitas

In the second round of the 1st. U20 Rugby Championship, the All Blacks Juniors beat the U20 Pumitas by 43-20 (24-8), remaining undefeated in the youth clash  played at the Sunshine Coast Stadium in Queenstown, Australia.

Under the rain on the northeast Australian coast, New Zealand U20 beat Argentina U20, scoring six tries to three to secure a bonus point and take the lead, adding 7 points, to 5 from Argentina, 4 from Australia and 3 from South Africa.

Argentina had just beaten the host Australia in the opening round on thursday may 2th  and New Zealand gave up a draw with South Africa. Therefore, the game of the third and final day next Sunday 12th will be decisive.

But the All Blacks Juniors captained by Hooker Vernon Bason launched an all-field offense with more hand-handling play, in the intense rain of the Australian autumn, with quick movements to the sides.

The Pumitas U20, captained by the Cordoba’s  second row  Efraín Elías who scored his try at 28', responded but were then outplayed by the New Zealand fly half scorer Rico Simpson.

Les All Blacks Juniors restent invaincus avec Pumitas M20

 

Au deuxième tour du 1er. Rugby Championship M20, les All Blacks Juniors ont battu les Pumitas M20 par 43-20 (24-8), restant invaincus lors de la classique des jeunes, disputée au Sunshine Coast Stadium de Queenstown, en Australie.

Sous la pluie sur la côte nord-est de l'Australie, la Nouvelle-Zélande U20 a battu l'Argentine U20, marquant six essais contre trois pour s'assurer un point bonus et prendre la tête, ajoutant 7 points, contre 5 pour l'Argentine, 4 pour l'Australie et 3 pour l'Afrique du Sud.

L'Argentine venait de battre l'Australie, pays hôte, au premier tour, jeudi 2 mai, et la Nouvelle-Zélande a concédé le match nul contre l'Afrique du Sud. Le match de la troisième et dernière journée dimanche prochain sera donc décisif.

Mais les All Blacks Juniors, dirigés par le talonneur Vernon Bason, ont lancé une attaque sur tous les terrains avec plus de jeu de mains, sous la pluie intense de l'automne australien, avec des mouvements rapides sur les côtés.
