El sábado comienza un Rugby Championship 2013, con la novedad para los cuatro desafiantes: enfrentar las nuevas reglas del scrum. Una incógnita que preocupa a Springboks-Pumas en Soweto, como a Wallabies-All Blacks en Sydney.

La gran novedad es que la primera línea de los Pumas será del interior del país con los mendocinos Matías Díaz, Eusebio Guiñazú y el salteño Juan Figallo, un líder del pack argentino.

El entrenador neocelandés Graham Henry por segundo año seguido será el consultor de Argentina, por lo que se estima de que los Pumas se han convertido en algo más que una versión destinada fuertemente al juego con el pié: seguir la inspiración All Black.

Por lo que una de las preocupaciones del entrenador de los Springboks Heyneke Meyer, es que Argentina está jugando más abierto que en temporadas anteriores, tras ver imágenes de Pumas arrasando a los australianos NSW Barbarians por 58-12 en Salta, anotando ocho tries.

Meyer dijo que “quedó impresionado por el desempeño y consideró que los Pumas jugarían una producción parecida en el estadio Soccer City el sábado, comparando el estilo de juego con el de los All Blacks, y que se le atribuye a Henry esa influencia.

En Sudáfrica estiman de que Henry tiene una buena comprensión de lo que funciona, y lo que no en el rugby moderno y sabe de que Argentina no tiene las estructuras de rugby de Nueva Zelanda, ni el talento y la profundidad de los All Blacks.

Pero que los Pumas van al Rugby Championship con el equipo más fuerte disponible, y con Henry haciendo los ajustes necesarios aquí y allá, por lo que la escuadra argentina será doblemente peligrosa.

"Han mejorado mucho desde el año pasado y hemos analizado su juego más reciente  (contra NSW Barbarians), y casi los estamos viendo jugar como los All Blacks. Es que Henry es un entrenador fantástico y ha tenido un impacto positivo en su juego”, sentenció Meyer.

Para agregar de que "Son afortunados (los Pumas) ya que van a entrar a la cancha después de haber tenido tres o cuatro semanas para prepararse y ojalá nosotros hubiéramos tenido dos semanas para el partido, pero no fue suficiente”.

“Deberíamos haber jugado mejor contra Argentina la última vez (los Springboks empataron 16-16 en Mendoza) y sabemos lo que nos costó enfrentarlos en esa ocasión por lo que será un partido difícil en el comienzo de nuestra campaña".

Aunque se indica: “los Pumas tendrán dificultades para jugar abierto si no pueden asegurar la pelota limpia en los puntos de contacto. Si bien han mejorado su ataque, siguen siendo un equipo difícil de enfrentar cuando están defendiendo en el punto de ruptura”.

Lo que inquieta a Meyer es la defensa del ruck: "Tenemos que ser buenos en defensa, pero también esperamos mejorar respecto a  nuestras últimas actuaciones atacando. Argentina es muy buena para frenarnos en la base así que tienes que estar atento en los rucks”.

AARON CRUDEN SUSTITUYE DAN CARTER EN COMANDO DE LOS ALL BLACKS

En las dos primeras jornadas del Rugby Championship 2013, el apertura All Black Dan Carter, será baja ante Australia, y Aaron Cruden será el titular de Nueva Zelanda en Sydney junto al medio scrum Aaron Smith (al quedar descartado Piri Weepu).

Tras la lesión en su pantorrilla izquierda, Dan Carter fue descartado por el entrenador Steve Hansen y podría estar ausente por cuatro semanas. De allí que Hansen confirmó que Carter se perderá el partido apertura del sábado contra los Wallabies en Sydney, así como el encuentro revancha en Wellington el sábado 24 de agosto.

Hansen indicó que Carter “sintió una opresión en el músculo de la pantorrilla izquierda después de un calentamiento el viernes pasado y la lesión se agravó después del entrenamiento de ayer lunes”.

Por lo que el joven apertura de los Chiefs de Waikato, campeón del Súper Rugby 2013, Aaron Cruden, se propone como titular para conducir el ataque de los All Blacks.

JAMES O'CONNORS EN MARCHA COMO APERTURA DE LOS WALLABIES

El controvertido apertura australiano James O'Connor se comprometió  cambiar su forma de ser para seguir en los Wallabies dirigidos por el  nuevo entrenador Ewen McKenzie.

El jugador con 40 caps con Australia a sus 23 años, está buscando un club después de ser descartado por los Melbourne Rebels, indicó que estaba adoptando la nueva cultura del plantel, antes de la apertura del Campeonato de Rugby del sábado contra los All Blacks en Sydney.

McKenzie al ser entrenador de Australia reemplazando al neocelandés Robbie Deans (en julio después de que los Wallabies perdieran la serie ante los Leones británicos e irlandeses por 2-1),  incluyó O'Connor en el plantel de 30 jugadores para la máxima serie del hemisferio sur.

O’Connors recibió críticas  y es probable de que sea elegido para enfrentar a los All Blacks, aunque incurrió en cuestiones discipldisciplinarias bajo el mando de Robbie Deans, al ser descubierto en un bar en las primeras horas  del sábado del segundo test  contra los Lions.

"No juego al rugby que se habla fuera del campo", replicó O'Connor para sentenciar:"Estoy jugando rugby porque me encanta y eso es lo que quiero hacer, jugar para mi país."

También el apertura apuntó: “En este momento estoy entrenando y tratando de participar para que el equipo gane” y reveló que McKenzie “habló sobre lo que él espera en términos de comportamiento”.

“Estoy entusiasmado, y estoy en un proceso de que hay cosas personales en que ya he cambiado y con McKenzie hemos hablado sobre el plan de juego que quiere hacer", matizó O'Connor que está buscando un club después de que los Melbourne Rebels lo descartaron.

Hasta el momento el antiguo club de O’ Connor, Western Force estaba hablando con él después de que otras franquicias australianas del Super como los Brumbies, Waratahs y Reds dijeron que no tenían espacio en sus planteles.

But the Pumas  go to the Rugby Championship with the strongest team available, and with Henry making adjustments here and there in the Argentina squad will be doubly dangerous.

"They've improved a lot since last year and assessed the most recrecent game (against NSW Barbarians), and we are seeing almost play like the All Blacks.'s That Henry is a fantastic coach and has had a positive impact on their game", Meyer sentenced.

To add that "They are lucky (Pumas) as they will enter the court after having three or four weeks to prepare and I wish we would have had two weeks to the party, but it was not enough”.

"We should have played better against Argentina last time (the Springboks drew 16-16 in Mendoza) and we know what it cost us address them at that time so it will be a tough match in the beginning of our campaign”.

In the first opening day of the Rugby Championship 2013, the  All Black flyhalf Dan Carter, will be low against Australia, and Aaron Cruden will own New Zealand in Sydney next Saturday with the half back Aaron Smith (for Piri Weepu to be discarded).

After the injury to his left calf Dan Carter was ruled out by coach Steve Hansen and could be gone for four weeks.

Hence, Hansen confirmed that Carter will miss Saturday's opener against the Wallabies at Sydney, and the revenge match in Wellington on Saturday August 24.
Hansen said that Carter "felt a tightness in his left calf muscle after heating last Friday and the injury got worse after training on Monday."

So the young  Waikato Chiefs fly-half, the Super Rugby 2013 champion, Aaron Cruden, is proposed as a starter to lead the attack of the All Blacks.

JAMES O’CONNORS AS OPENING UP THE WALLABIES

The controversial Australian fly-half James O'Connor vowed to change his nature to follow the Wallabies led by new coach Ewen McKenzie. "I'm excited, and I'm in a process of personal things in there that I've changed and McKenzie have spoken about the game plan he wants to do," noted O'Connor is looking for a club after the Melbourne Rebels what discarded.

So far the old club of O'Connor, Western Force was talking to him after other Australian Super franchises as the Brumbies, Waratahs and Reds said they had no space on their teams.

Bien qu'il soit indiqué: «les Pumas auront du mal à ouvrir le jeu si ils ne peuvent pas garantir propre balle au point de contact. Alors amélioré leur attaque, restent une équipe difficile à affronter quand elles défendent au point de rupture".

Ce qui inquiète Meyer ce la défense des rucks: «Nous devons être bons en défense, mais aussi l'espoir d'améliorer nos derniers objectifs de performance Argentine est très bon pour nous arrêter à la base, donc vous devez être prudent dans les rucks».

El rugby nacional tiene en Tala y Tablada a  máximos protagonistas que revalidaron jerarquía en las semifinales del Súper 12 del rugby cordobés, disputadas en el campo de juego de Palermo Bajo en los Boulevares, al norte de la ciudad de Córdoba.

El campeón saliente dió cuenta de Urú Curé de Río Cuarto por 16-6 (11-6); y el líder de la temporada Tala batió Jockey Club Córdoba 41-5 (24-0).

Ambos se enfrentarán el sábado en el mismo recinto para disputarse un título que significa para La Tablada su segundo cetro consecutivo y para Tala recuperarlo ya que desde 2011 no festeja ese halago.

 Mientras que Urú Curé y el Jockey Club capitalino buscarán redimirse de sus contrastes, apuntando a conquistar el tercer escalón que promociona al Torneo del Interior (que reúne clubes provinciales fuera del egido de la Unión de Buenos AirAires, URBA).

Inolvidables las imágenes para las 3000 personas que vivieron la máxima fiesta del rugby cordobés en  los Boulevares  dos propuestas de distinto contenido técnico-estratégico pero de idéntica motivación como de actitud a partir del despliegue, experiencia y oficio, juego de contención y  arranques impetuosos buscando apoyar el balón en la tierra prometida.

La Tablada apoyó dos tries en momentos sicologicos determinantes, a partir de la potencia grupal del maul que posibilitó que el segunda línea Santiago Sánchez Pulgar defina a los 26’  y luego con la atropellada que remató el wing Mateo Tomalino (63’), dando por terminada las pretensiones de Urú Curé que tuvo dos ocasiones de marcar y no concretó.

Tala salió resuelto a terminar la faena con la determinación de quien tiene un objetivo a respetar no obstante las encendidas fricciones que le planteó el quince hípico que no acertó en limitar el daño de un parcial de 24-0 para verse superado debido a una ofensiva blanquinegra nacida en su dominio del scrum y que se hizo presente en 6 tries por 1 del oponente.

Para el segunda línea Santiago Sánchez Pulgar que puso en evidencia la emoción de apoyar el primer try de La Tablada empujado por el maul de un pack arrollador: “el mérito nuestro es la concentración, y con mucha actitud se pueden lograr éste tipo de resultado que es el fruto de la experiencia, de mucho tiempo de trabajo y de querer corregir errores”.

Según el full back Gonzalo Ruiz, autor del sexto try de Tala, “fuimos superiores en todo el partido comenzando con los forwards que fueron la base y que en cada pelota en disputa fueron adelante y nos dieron juego a los tres cuartos que liberamos para marcar. Ahora viene un lindo desafío ya que  tanto mis compañeros como yo nos gusta enfrentar a Tablada porque hay mucho en juego”.

Lo que está claro, es que tanto Tala como Tablada (y viceversa) pusieron de relieve que están un escalón arriba de sus oponentes en Súper 12 y ello se reflejará en las confrontaciones nacionales de fin de temporada, como así también para la máxima cita del rugby del país, cual es el próximo Campeonato Argentino de Mayores.

Los “play-offs” dejaron clara lectura de lo que propondrán las semifinales del Súper 12 en el rugby cordobés: Urú Curé en Río Cuarto mandó la primera señal desafiante con su 32-6 rotundo a Palermo Bajo  y en el Country, Jockey Club Córdoba replicó con un 21-13 determinante frente al Córdoba Athletic. Por lo que Tala y La Tablada ya están avisados. 

Para Gonzalo Ruíz, full back de Tala "Estos partidos se juegan dejando todo por la camiseta que uno lleva, y aplicando todo lo practicado en el año, puliendo detalles y aprovechando las virtudes del equipo.  Los puntos de contacto se juegan con concentración y mucha agresividad".

En su feudo de Soles del Oeste, las “Lechuzas Solitarias” pusieron en evidencia de que marchan a paso redoblado en los segundos tiempos. Ante Palermo Bajo, el primer try de Guillermo Pispieiro a los 19’ abrió la ventaja parcial de 10-6, pero en el complemento fue demoledor el quince local con los delanteros marcando la diferencia.

El “flanker” Facundo Lagos, figura de la cancha, fue al abordaje y Manuel Fernández tras  60 metros de “sprint” apoyó el segundo try en la tierra prometida y Urú Curé comenzó la demolición con el scrum, donde marcó las diferencias. Luego llegaron los ensayos de Facundo Lagos y Nicolás Dolsan para redondear una sólida performance.

Urú Curé sabe como enfrentar a  La Tablada el sábado en Palermo Bajo, mientras que Jockey Club Córdoba  con oficio, concentración y carácter logró la semifinal ante Tala, dando cuenta del Córdoba Athletic con la visión del medio scrum Ignacio Plans, potencia del “flanker” Francisco Panessi, y  oficio del “eterno” segunda línea Alejandro Allub.

Al Córdoba Athletic le faltó continuidad y  toma de decisiones para vulnerar la férrea defensa hípica que va resuelta y determinada al choque con el Tala que propondrá el duro combate del scrum y de los lines; unas alternativas que ya tienen fogueado al “quince hípico cordobés junto a un “tackling” demoledor.

 Para el apertura del Tala, Stefano Ambrosio, “la mejor forma de encarar estas semis es jugando a lo TALA, haciendo lo que mejor sabemos hacer, hacernos fuertes en los puntos de contacto y en el scrum, la  formación que la jugamos bien durante todo el potencia campeonato y mejorando algunas falencias que tuvimos en el line out, luego por afuera tenemos grandes jugadores que si dominamos con el pack podemos hacer la diferencia”.

·         Según el wing del Jockey, Topito Salazar  “las dos semi finales son el reflejo del torneo, ya que están los cuatro mejores equipos del torneo. Y el sábado para cada equipo son 80 minutos donde puede pasar cualquier cosa. Seguramente serán partidos un poco cerrados ya que el que se equivoque mas va a perder y todos van a apostar a cuidarse un poco más”.
