Urú Curé visita a Jockey Club Córdoba en apasionante derby en Country

En la décimo segunda jornada del  Súper 8 del 87º Campeonato de Primera División ´´Javier “Pelado” Morra´´, se propone mañana un apasionante derby en el Country, donde se enfrentarán los máximos aspirantes al cetro,  como son  Jockey Club Córdoba (2º) y Urú Curé (1º ); mientras que a diez cuadras el Córdoba Athletic (3º ) recibirá Tala RC (4º junto a La Tablada),  buscando ambos consolidar sus plazas. Por lo que en Barrio Jardín se escribirá una página importante del rugby cordobés, además de otros dos clásicos, que también tendrán como pretendientes a La Tablada (4º ) visitando en La Lomita de Aktro Alberdi a Universitario (8º) y a Palermo Bajo (6º), buscando un punto bonus en Las Acacias frente a un duro  Jockey Club Villa María (7º ).

Palpitando el choque en el sur capitalino, dialogamos con tres protagonistas de un sábado de fiebre por la tarde: el octavo de Urú Curé, Lautaro Casado Sandri, el medio scrum del Jockey Club Córdoba, Marcelo Blanco y el goleador y wing del quince hípico capitalino, Julio Deheza, quienes con determinación y reflexiones, adelantan el clima para éste desafío en la cumbre.

´´Vamos al partido, muy serios y con la humildad que nos caracteriza, sabiendo que jugamos una final con un rival directo, para cumplir nuestro objetivo, ajustando cada detalle y tratando de mejorar. Creo  que no va a ser el mismo Jockey ni el  mismo Urú que jugamos en Soles del Oeste y se va sintiendo el desgaste de tantos partidos´´, puso de relieve Lautaro Casado Sandri. Sobre el particular desafío, resaltó el Ball-Carrier de La Lechuza: ´´Lo importante es que logramos el gran objetivo del año que fue agrandar el plantel y tener  un equipo,  que entra, cumple y se destaca. Sobre  Jockey,  está teniendo un gran momento en todas sus lineas, y el punto va a estar en ser muy intenso en lo que intentemos hacer y cuando tengamos la oportunidad ser muy efectivos´´.  A la vez que Marcelo Blanco el conductor de pack rojiblanco, sentenció: ´´Vamos a enfrentar un partido muy duro, con un rival que te presiona en todos los frentes, por lo que la clave es no aflojar en ningún momento y tener presente que si queres las semifinales deberás trabajar mucho en la recuperación, donde seguramente será una guerra. En eso hemos trabajado y por suerte no tenemos lesionados´´.

Mientras que el goleador y tryman del Jockey Club Córdoba, Julio Deheza subrayó: ´´Vamos plasmando todo lo que hacemos en la cancha y con mucha comunicación entre nosotros, hablando de que hay que cambiar o que debemos profundizar,  para ir buscando el camino a las semifinales y lógicamente comenzando mañana contra Urú Curé en nuestra cancha ´´.

Wallabies y Pumas a la caza de los Springboks - Wallabies and Pumas on the hunt for the Springboks

Como decir que en éste zoológico rugbístico virtual, los Canguros y los Pumas se lanzan a engullirse a la gacela, visto que el kiwi se encuentra en lo alto del primado viendo lo que ocurre allá abajo del VII Rugby Championship 2018, luego de tres rondas donde Nueva Zelanda suma 15 puntos por 6 de Sudáfrica  y 4 de Australia y Argentina. Ésta cuarta ronda a jugarse en Gold Coast y Wellington, respectivamente. tiene mucha adrenalina, ya que Wallabies y Pumas están acuciados por mejorar performances en los tres cuartos para los australianos, como en el scrum, la defensa y los puntos de contacto en el caso argentino. Y con los Springboks en poco probable pretensión de ganarles a los All Blacks, que apuntan a retener su cetro en el hemisferio sur,  no obstante experimentar un sinnúmero de cambios en su plantel lleno de estrellas, por lo que la jornada sabatina se disputará bajo el signo del tan pretendido segundo lugar de la tabla. En los Pumas regresa el medio scrum mendocino Gonzalo Bertranou por lo que hay promesa de otra maniobra ofensiva con el apertura tucumano Nicolás Sánchez;   y que no se concretó con el medio scrum porteño Martín Landajo, por lo que fue una ventaja más ante All Blacks y que frente los Wallabies puede ser determinante. Pero el foco estará centrado en las formaciones, tanto del scrum, donde la incógnita está centrada en la primera línea con los bonaerenses Santiago Medrano, 2 Agustín Creevy, y 1 Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro, además del line, ruck y mauls. Allí se verificará el progreso que pretende Argentina frente a Australia, que es considerada favorita para ganar por 15 puntos,  con el retorno de Israel Foulau que de full back pasa a wing junto en los tres cuartos junto al centro revelación  Matt Toomua, y la pareja de medios formada por Kurtley Beale y Will Genia.

Con su victoria en el clásico del sur capitalino y la conquista de la Turtle Cup anual, sobre  Córdoba Athletic  por 33-26,  el Jockey Club Córdoba  le pisa los talones al líder Urú Curé que cayó en su feudo ante La Tablada por 38-33, en una apasionante novena fecha del Super 8  del 87º  Campeonato de Primera División ´´Javier “Pelado” Morra´´.

La segunda jornada de las revanchas, puso de relieve la alta intensidad del juego,  donde también salieron triunfantes Tala RC sobre Jockey Club Villa María por 45-17 y Palermo Bajo ante Universitario por 30-16. En una semana se viene el clásico del norte entre La Tablada vs Tala RC, y donde ambos buscan con fervor el cuadrangular final.

Con éstos marcadores las posiciones contribuyen a dar  mayor presión  al líder Urú Curé y a sus inmediatos perseguidores, si tenemos en cuenta que la escuadra riocuartence está 1º con  33 pts, y 2º es el Jockey Club Córdoba  con 29, 3º es el  Córdoba Athleticb con  28, y en 4º lugar La Tablada y Tala RC con 24, 6º el  Palermo Bajo con 23, y cierran en7º lugar  Jockey Club Villa María y Universitario con 7 unidades.

Gales en el séptimo cielo, tras los Springboks también doblegó a los Pumas- Wales in the seventh heaven, after Springboks also defeated Pumas

Dragones Rojos de Gales están en el séptimo cielo: tras doblegar hace una semana a los Springboks por 22-20 en Washington y arrasar hoy a los Pumas por 23-10 en el Estadio Bicentenario de San Juan, con dos tries de gran factura como los apoyados por el flanker James Davies y el wing George North.

Ahora el sábado llega la revancha en Santa Fe.

Los Pumas jadeantes, con falta de oxígeno y resoplando, apoyaron el try del honor con el aguerrido flanker santiagueño Tomás Lezana , que entró tarde para reemplazar al porteño Pablo Matera, de imprudente ingreso como titular, para dejar la cancha con nuevos problemas físicos, y ayudado por los asistentes sanitarios.

La conversión del apertura porteño  Santiago González Iglesias que reemplazó al goleador tucumano Nicolás Sánchez (que totaliza 606 tantos en su haber con el penal a los 2’ de juego), puso un 20-10, que finalmente se transformó en 23-10 con el penal del apertura suplente Gareth Anscombe. El try de Tomás Lezana rompió el ayuno que los Pumas que estaban sufriendo y evitó la humillación que se había producido por  última vez  ante Francia en el estadio José Fierro de San Miguel de Tucumán, cuando cayeron por 27-0 el 25 de junio de 2016. La alta intensidad que propone Gales, requiere mayor crédito de oxígeno y contundencia. Ahora viene la revancha el próximo sábado, en el Estadio  Brigadier General Estanislao López de la Ciudad de Santa Fe, donde los Dragones Rojos entrenados por el neozelandés Warren Gatland, podrían ganar histórica  serie continental. Gales ganó por última vez una serie en Argentina en 1999, cuando el actual entrenador de ataque Rob Howley era el medio scrum. Será una semana de intenso trabajo para el entrenador tucumano Daniel Hourcade y su asistente, el rosarino Pablo Bousa, en encontrar equilibrio en la organización defensiva, comenzando por la primera línea de irregular performance y donde se advirtió el saludable ingreso del pilar tucumano Javier Díaz.

Mientras que en los tres cuartos sería interesante el ingreso del cordobés Juan Cruz Mallía, para cubrir la falta de una alta cuota de tackling, recuperación de pelota, y explorar nuevos caminos ofensivos ya que todas las maniobras intentadas por los Pumas fueron previsibles y anticipadas por los británicos.  La victoria de Gales fue la excepción a los triunfos del Hemisferio Sur sobre los restantes miembros del hemisferio norte, ya que los All Blacks  arrasaron a Francia por 52-11, los Springboks a Inglaterra por 49-39 y los Wallabies a Irlanda por 18-9.

Los Pumas con nuevo ímpetu, se presentarán mañana en la escena internacional donde enfrentarán a los Dragones Rojos de Gales en el comienzo de doce desafíos trascendentes que los proyectarán a la cita de la IX Copa Mundial de Japón 2019.  Ellos son favoritos para ésta confrontación en el Bicentenario de la Ciudad de San Juan.

En partido cubierto por un mar de errores básicos los Hurricanes dominaron el scrum, lines, mauls, ganando en  forma contundente a los Jaguares, con bonus de cinco puntos y están segundos en la Conferencia de Nueva Zelanda y cuartos en la clasificación general. 

 Los Jaguares en cambio, no aprovecharon la ventaja de jugar con un hombre más por amarilla al pilar Ben May, y encajaron la tercera derrota consecutiva, la primera como local y se hundieron al fondo de la tabla en Conferencia sudafricana y en la clasificación general. Los Hurricanes apoyaron tries con el wing Ben Lam, los centros Ngani Laumape y Matt Proctor, y los suplentes Vince Aso y Blade Thomson; mientras que el apertura Beauden Barrett sumó tres conversiones y el apertura suplente Jackson Garden-Bachop agregó un penal. Espectacular performance de los Pumas 7s en la primera jornada del Seven de Las Vegas, con tries cordobeses del capitán Gastón Revol, de Lautaro Bazán Vélez y de Luciano González Rizzoni, en electrizante frenesí con triunfos sobre Escocia de 21-19 y frente a Nueva Zelanda de 26-19. 

Falta solamente completar en  zona D el tercer encuentro ante Uruguay, para disputar los cuartos de finales en Copa de Oro. En Zona A, está el último campeón Fidji, con Kenia, Francia y Rusia. En  Zona B: Sudáfrica, Inglaterra, Canadá y Gales y en Zona C: Australia, Samoa, Estados Unidos y España. En lo que va del circuito, fueron  campeones Sudáfrica (en Dubai), luego Nueva Zelanda (en Ciudad del Cabo ), Australia (en Sidney) y Fidji (en Hamilton).

Cae el telón en el Seis Naciones de las Américas, con los Teros uruguayos siendo los anfitriones de las Águilas estadounidenses en el estadio Charrúa de Montevideo a partir de las 15:40  donde el XV visitante invicto, defiende su título en la última ronda sabiendo que el triunfo o el  empate les permitirá ser nuevamente campeones. Los Hurricanes que vienen de perder ante los Bulls el pasado sábado en el Loftus Versfeld de Pretoria por 21-19, buscan redimirse ante los Jaguares que vienen de perder ante los Lions en el Ellis Park de Johannesburgo por 47-27 el pasado sábado, y  van por un debut exitoso el sábado en el Estadio de Vélez Sarsfield. 

La tercera fecha del Super Rugby 15 en la cancha porteña, encuentra a los Hurricanes de Wellington favoritos con margen de 20  puntos sobre la franquicia argentina, debido al regreso de sus All Blacks, los hermanos Jordie Barrett  y Beauden Barrett junto al medio scrum Thomas Perenara y los hermanos Julian y Ardie Savea. El jugador del año de World Rugby, Beauden Barrett, será el apertura saliendo del banco en  el partido inaugural de los Hurricanes ante los Bulls,  mientras que  Jordie Barrett será el  full back, en su debut en  la temporada 2018, al  recuperarse de la lesión en el hombro en la semifinal 2017 frente a los Lions en Johannesburgo. Respecto a la derrota ante los Bull, el entrenador Chris Boy completa los cuatro cambios con el pilar Chris Eves  por el lesionado Toby Smith, y  Ben Lam como wing  reemplaza a Wes Goosen. Hurricanes seek to redeem themselves against Jaguares

The Hurricanes that come from losing against  Bulls last Saturday at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria 21-19, seek to redeem themselves against  Jaguares who come from losing against  Lions at Ellis Park in Johannesburg 47-27 last Saturday, and they go for a successful debut on Saturday at Vélez Sarsfield Stadium of Buenos Aires City. En franca superación y con dos figuras de  la jerarquía de Franco Brarda (Tala RC) en delanteros y de Juan Cruz Mallía (Jockey Club Córdoba)  en tres cuartos, Argentina XV ganó a Canadá 40-15 en la cuarta fecha del Americas Rugby  Championship  disputado en el Estadio 23 de Agosto del Club Gimnasia y Esgrima de San Salvador de Jujuy. 

Por 6 tries a dos, Argentina XV ganó a Canada. El plantel  entrenado por los porteños Felipe Contepomi e Ignacio Fernández Lobbe y el tucumano Diego Ternavasio, hilvanó tercera  victoria tras la derrota inicial frente a los campeones salientes Estados Unidos en California., al superar  Uruguay y Chile y ahora a los Canucks canadienses. En los restantes encuentros de la jornada, Uruguay le ganó a Chile por 67-15 en La Pintana de Santiago y Estados Unidos derrotó a Brasil por 45-16 en Sao Jose dos Campos.  Disputadas cuatro fechas, Estados Unidos encabeza las posiciones invicto con 19 puntos,  escoltado por Argentina XV  con 16, Uruguay 14, Canadá 6, Brasil 4 y Chile 1 punto.  La quinta y última fecha del  próximo sábado: Uruguay vs Estados Unidos, Chile vs Canadá y Brasil vs Argentina XV  a las 18.10 hs, en Sao José dos Campos.

In frank surpassing and with two figures the hierarchy of Franco Brarda (Tala RC) in forwards and Juan Cruz Mallía (Jockey Club Córdoba) in back line,  Argentina XV won Canada 40-15 in fourth round of Americas Rugby Championship played at Stadium 23 de Agosto of Club Gimnasia y Esgrima of San Salvador de Jujuy City. By 6 tries to two, Argentina XV won to Canada.

The squad trained by Felipe Contepomi and Ignacio Fernandez Lobbe ftom Buenos Aires and Diego Ternavasio from Tucumán, weaved third victory after initial defeat against the defending champions United States in California, by overcoming Uruguay and Chile and now Canadian Canucks.
In the remaining matches of the round, Uruguay beat Chile by 67-15 at  La Pintana in Santiago and United States defeated Brazil 45-16 at Sao Jose dos Campos. After four rounds, United States leads as unbeaten positions with 19 points, escorted by Argentina XV with 16, Uruguay 14, Canada 6, Brazil 4 and Chile 1 point. The fifth and last round on next Saturday: Uruguay vs United States, Chile vs Canada and Brazil vs Argentina XV at Sao Jose dos Campos (18:10).

Tres ensayos en primer tiempo congelaron Inglaterra en Murrayfield- Three tries in first half froze England at Murrayfield

No era  Siberia, pero el clima polar era ese en el templo de Murrayfield en Edimburgo, donde Escocia ganó todo desde el pitazo inicial a Inglaterra, que llegaba a la Siberia de los Highlanders a defender su bicampeonato en el Seis Naciones 2018 y en cambio encajó un 25-13 contundente, terminante.

Hoy Escocia fue el ganador de la anual Calcutta Cup, la centenaria copa que se disputa entre escoceses e ingleses y donde  ’’no se hacen prisioneros’’, y es la primer derrota de una Inglaterra que ya no conquistará el Gran Slam (ganarle a los restantes cinco adversarios).  También hay escalofríos de aprensión en el frente de la Copa del Mundo, ya que Inglaterra puso de relieve que vulnerable para la confrontación de Japón 2019, donde acechan Francia y Argentina en la etapa clasificatoria. Además de sus limitaciones ofensivas, la disciplina de Inglaterra fue lamentable, concediendo 13 penales, pérdidas de balón, y teniendo tarjeta amarilla para Sam Underhill. Fue una experiencia aleccionadora para el plantel entrenado por el australiano-japonés Eddie Jones. Fue la primera y merecida victoria de Escocia en Copa Calcuta en una década y frente a los ingleses. No fue una sorpresa la aclamación atronadora. 

Los escoceses, tan desafortunados en Cardiff, fueron héroes ante su público, jugando con el entusiasmo que le preocupó a Nueva Zelanda y Australia en noviembre. Escocia desapareció al comienzo del campeonato, pero redescubrió esa identidad vigorizante en ésta sexta victoria consecutiva en Murrayfield y ahora viaja a Dublín el próximo sábado para enfrentar al líder Irlanda que viene de ganarle a Gales en el Lansdowne Road por 35-27. En dos semanas se disputará la cuarta fecha en sábado 10 de marzo con Irlanda-Escocia y Francia-Inglaterra y el domingo 11 de marzo con Gales-Italia.

In two weeks the fourth round will be played on Saturday 10 March with Ireland-Scotland and France-England and on Sunday 11 March with Wales-Italy.
