No era  Siberia, pero el clima polar era ese en el templo de Murrayfield en Edimburgo, donde Escocia ganó todo desde el pitazo inicial a Inglaterra, que llegaba a la Siberia de los Highlanders a defender su bicampeonato en el Seis Naciones 2018 y en cambio encajó un 25-13 contundente, terminante.

Hoy Escocia fue el ganador de la anual Calcutta Cup, la centenaria copa que se disputa entre escoceses e ingleses y donde  ’’no se hacen prisioneros’’, y es la primer derrota de una Inglaterra que ya no conquistará el Gran Slam (ganarle a los restantes cinco adversarios).  También hay escalofríos de aprensión en el frente de la Copa del Mundo, ya que Inglaterra puso de relieve que vulnerable para la confrontación de Japón 2019, donde acechan Francia y Argentina en la etapa clasificatoria. Además de sus limitaciones ofensivas, la disciplina de Inglaterra fue lamentable, concediendo 13 penales, pérdidas de balón, y teniendo tarjeta amarilla para Sam Underhill. Fue una experiencia aleccionadora para el plantel entrenado por el australiano-japonés Eddie Jones. Fue la primera y merecida victoria de Escocia en Copa Calcuta en una década y frente a los ingleses. No fue una sorpresa la aclamación atronadora. 

Los escoceses, tan desafortunados en Cardiff, fueron héroes ante su público, jugando con el entusiasmo que le preocupó a Nueva Zelanda y Australia en noviembre. Escocia desapareció al comienzo del campeonato, pero redescubrió esa identidad vigorizante en ésta sexta victoria consecutiva en Murrayfield y ahora viaja a Dublín el próximo sábado para enfrentar al líder Irlanda que viene de ganarle a Gales en el Lansdowne Road por 35-27. En dos semanas se disputará la cuarta fecha en sábado 10 de marzo con Irlanda-Escocia y Francia-Inglaterra y el domingo 11 de marzo con Gales-Italia.

It was not Siberia, but the polar climate was that at Murrayfield temple in Edinburgh, where Scotland won everything from the initial whistle to England, which reached the Siberia of the Highlanders to defend their double championship in Six Nations 2018 and instead fit a forceful 25-13, strict.

Today Scotland was the winner of the annual Calcutta Cup, the hundred-year-old cup between Scots and English and where "no prisoners are taken", and it is the first defeat of an England that will no longer win the Grand Slam (beat the remaining five adversaries). There are also chills of apprehension on the front of  World Cup, as England highlighted that vulnerable to the confrontation of Japan 2019, where France and Argentina lurk in the qualifying stage. In addition to their offensive limitations, England's discipline was regrettable, conceding 13 penalties, turnovers, and having a yellow card for Sam Underhill. It was a sobering experience for the squad trained by the Australian-Japanese Eddie Jones. It was the first and deserved victory of Scotland in Calcutta Cup in a decade and against the English. The thunderous acclamation was not a surprise. The Scots, so unfortunate in Cardiff, were heroes to their public, playing with the excitement that worried New Zealand and Australia in November. Scotland disappeared at the start of the championship, but rediscovered that invigorating identity in this sixth consecutive victory at Murrayfield and now travels to Dublin next Saturday to face the leader Ireland that comes from beating Wales in the Lansdowne Road by 35-27. In two weeks the fourth round will be played on Saturday 10 March with Ireland-Scotland and France-England and on Sunday 11 March with Wales-Italy.
