La próxima fecha, décima del calendario de segunda fase, promete desafíos de alta jerarquía el martes 10 de mayo, con Selknam vs. Cafeteros Pro, a las 16:00, posteriormente con Olimpia Lions vs. Cobras XV a las 18:00 hrs. y finalmente el choque Peñarol Rugby vs. Jaguares XV, a partir de las 20:20  hrs.

Con gran protagonismo y que le valió ser destacado el Man of the Match, el segunda línea del Jockey Club Córdoba, Franco Molina, condujo al Selknam chileno a superar a Jaguares XV por 23-10 en la octava fecha de la Super Liga Sudamericana de Rugby 2022, que se está disputando en su segunda fase en el mítico Estadio Charrúa de Montevideo.

Fue la segunda vez que Selknam supera a Jaguares XV en lo que va del torneo, ya que por la tercera fecha del 25 de marzo,  le había ganado en la primera fase disputada en el estadio La Pitana en Santiago de Chile, donde le quitó el invicto, y por idéntico marcador: 23-10.

Ahora, la franquicia trasandina entrenada por el santafecino Nicolás Bruzzone, se ubica en el segundo lugar de la SLAR por detrás de Peñarol Rugby, entrenado por el rosarino Pablo Bouza, y tras el histórico triunfo sobre Jaguares XV, entrenado por el porteño Ignacio Fernández Lobbe, repitiendo el desafío que marcó el fin del invicto argentino del 25 de marzo pasado.

El Estadio Charrúa de Montevideo fue testigo de un neto dominio en el scrum de Selknam que apunta a las semifinales tras consolidrs el segundo lugar de la tabla de posiciones con 28 puntos, por detrás de Peñarol Rugby que suma 34, Jaguares XV está tercero con 26 y Cafeteros Pro al ganar a Cobras XV 29-19 está cuarto.
