Un sábado 4 de abril de 2009, los Dogos se proclamaron Campeones por quinta  vez de su historia al conquistar el 65º Campeonato Argentino de Mayores con un drop en el minuto final de Horacio San Martín, y que significó el triunfo sobre Las Naranjas de Tucumán por 15-12 (6-9) que perdió su cuarta final consecutiva. Mendoza que superó San Juan por 21-16 en la zona permanencia al haber ganado 25-22 a la ida. Mientras que Noreste ganó el ascenso eliminando Sur por 32-0 y 45-18.
 

CORDOBA CAMPEÓN
Fue un partido intenso. Sin dar ni pedir tregua. Se peleo centímetro a centímetro, la disputa por la posesión fue sin cuartel. Los errores, forzados y no forzados, fueron una constante de uno y otro lado. Tucumán, con más control, hizo valer la potencia de su scrum, generando juego de ataque.

Cuando todo parecía encaminado a un título compartido, el drop de Horacio San Martín, casi desde mitad de cancha, hizo estallar al Athletic, a la vez que enmudeció al millar de tucumanos que viajaron a Córdoba.

                                                                                 

Fue el quinto título de los Dogos tras aquellos de 1995, 1996 (compartido con las Águilas de Buenos Aires), 1997 y 2001.

Remembering the "Dogos" Argentinians Champions an april 4 of 2009

A Saturday 4 april 2009, the Dogos from Córdoba, were crowned Argentinians Champions for the fifth time in its history by winning the 65th Seniors Argentine Championship with a drop goal in the final minute of Horacio San Martín, and that meant the triumph over Los Naranjas of Tucumán by 15-12 (6-9) who missed his fourth consecutive final. Mendoza beat San Juan by 21-16 for to rest in championship zone won 25-22 on the way. While Nordeste eliminating Sur won the promotion by 32-0 and 45-18.

CORDOBA CHAMPION

It was an intense game. No give or ask for quarter. They fought meter by meter, the contest for possession was relentless. Errors forced and unforce, were a constant on either side.

Tucumán , with more control, asserted the power of your scrum, generating attack game. When all seemed aimed at a shared title, Horacio San Martín drop almost from midcourt, blew Athletic, while the thousand people from Tucumán who traveled to Córdoba.

It was the fifth title of the Bulldogs after those of 1995, 1996 (shared with the Eagles of Buenos Aires ), 1997 and 2001.
