The
Condores 7s conquered Gold Cup of Viña del Mar Sevens, overwhelming Los Teros
7s
With the forcefulness already demonstrated a week ago at 35º Punta del Este Sevens against Pumas 7s holders, the Chilean "Condores" conquered the 32nd Viña del Mar Sevens after trailing the Teros of Uruguay by 31-7 and achieving their second consecutive title in South America Seven, dominating from start to finish the "Teros" 7s that could do little to stop the onslaught of trans-Andean.

The Condores 7 fly high again. They did it with strength and determination;
perhaps the best way they have never done before and against Uruguay, the clash
rival, to consecrate champions by a convincing 31-7. After prevailing in
semifinals against the Pumas 7s substitutes by a strict 35-0 fruit of five
tries converted. For the 3rd place, Argentina beat
Portugal by 31-21. The
squad trained by Santiago Gómez Cora from Buenos Aires and Leonardo Gravano
from Tucumán, was resized from this second instance, as had happened with the
national team a week ago at Maldonado in Uruguay. The Silver Cup was for
Argentina 7s with great performance from the player from Mendoza, Maximiliano
Filizzola. Chile
proved once again, to be a mature, intelligent team, and with a remarkable
physical display very different from previous editions, those led by Coach
Edmundo Olfos covered each sector of the main pitch of the Mackay School, at
Reñaca, suburb of Viña del Mar, to win unappealable a crown that I did not
achieve since 2014.
From the initial kick off, the Condores began by imposing their speed and the excellent hand play that proved the decisive seal. Thus, Benjamín de Vidts was the one who opened the account in just one minute of play. Now Chile has secured his participation to the Qualy of Hong Kong Sevens, with Uruguay and also, play the stages of Las Vegas and Vancouver in the World Tour Sevens 2018/2019.
